Bobbin case....... I have a problem with the bobbin case falling out while sewing. The latch levers screws are completely tight, but the levers still are loose and won't hold the bobbin case. Can you help me with this problem?

    I wasn't able to understand a thing ahamed100 said. There was nothing mentioned whatsoever about why the levers still weren't holding the bobbin case in when the screws were still tight, but the levers would still move. Can somebody else help me with this issue??

    Same here-different machine. I have been trying unsuccessfully to keep the bobbin in place. the thread pulls the bobbin up, which bunches the fabric.

A bobbin case for accommodating a bobbin which has a shaft portion and a collar portion formed on both sides of the shaft portion on which a thread is wound, the bobbin case comprises: an opening being opened on at least one side of an axial direction of the shaft portion, for detachably accommodating the bobbin; a thread take-up portion provided in the axial direction opposite to the opening, for pulling out the thread of the bobbin; and a holding member which makes contact with the bobbin and nonrotatably holds the bobbin.

If your Singer model 600e's bobbin case is stuck, try the following steps to remove it:
  1. Turn off the sewing machine and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Raise the presser foot and the needle to the highest position.
  3. Open the bobbin cover and remove the bobbin from the bobbin case.

The bobbin thread will not raise. The bobbin and holder falls out every time
Difficult to help without knowing the make & model.

If the bobbin case falls out, then it is not latched into place. Most bobbin cases have a spring loaded latch that needs to be held open until the bobbin case is firmly seated in the machine. Then the latch is released which locks it in place.

Are you lifting the lever on the bobbin case to release the bobbin?

If the bobbin is that tight in the bobbin case, it is possible the wrong bobbin has been used. Singer has several bobbins that are very similar in size and appear to be interchangeable but are not.

How to adjust bobbin case for proper movement.
  1. Using a doubled piece of fabric similar to what you have in mind for your project, sew a seam on the diagonal-pulling the fabric on the diagonal to break the threads. (Ideal tension would either break neither thread or break both threads. So, a single breaking thread signals that the tension needs adjusting.)
  2. Snap out the faceplate to remove it & to gain access the bobbin area below the sewing needle.
  3. Remove the bobbin case & bobbin-lifting the hinged latch that you would to wind a new bobbin-leaving the bobbin in the case. (You need it in there to feel the tension as you adjust it.)
  4. Using a small screwdriver, very slightly turn the screw on the side of the bobbin case clockwise to increase tension; counterclockwise to decrease tension.
  5. Pull the bobbin thread while you hold the bobbin in its case & feel the thread's tension. Too tight of tension would prevent the thread from dispensing (& possibly break), but too loose of tension would allow the bobbin to fall out of its case.
  6. Return the bobbin case to the sewing machine & close the faceplate.
  7. Repeat this whole routine from Step One on the doubled fabric. Stitching should run along both the top & the bottom in the same way-locking in the center. A diagonal pull of the fabric should show which thread(s) break(s). Repeat Steps Two through Four to only adjust the screw aside the bobbin case in order to allow the threads to lock in the center of the fabric with both threads having the same break or no-break result.

Bobbin wont lock into place
Hello Lisa, There is a lever on the bobbin case that is spring loaded that secures the bobbin case to the shuttle or rotary hook, whichever you have. If you have the bobbin case in the correct position and the bobbin case pushes completely onto the stem of the shuttle but does not latch onto the stem to hold it in place, you may need a new bobbin case.

Upper thread breaks
1.needle may be in backwards
Correct needle insertion
Correct needle insertion is mandatory for proper use of sewing machine.
Raise the needle bar to the highest point, then loosen the clamp screw to remove the old needle, place the new needle in the clamp with the flat side to the back of the machine or if using a round needle--the groove in the needle should face away from the shaft.
Push the needle all the way up to the stop or as far as it will go, then tighten the needle clamp screw
2.upper tension may be to tight--try 3 to 5
3.the needle may be bent or damaged--try rolling the needle on a flat surface to see if it's bent or not
4.thread may be hanging up in bobbin case--check area for loose threads or lint

Lower thread breaks
The most probable cause of lower thread breaking is improperly wound bobbin
1.always start with a empty bobbin
Never wind one color over the other
2.choose thread that is identical in color & type as the one to be used for upper threading
3.wind the bobbin evenly across & in layers
4.don't wind the bobbin so full that it would be tight & hard to insert into bobbin case
5.bent bobbin--replace
6.lint built up in the bobbin case--frequent cleanings will eliminate this problem, the more often you use the sewing machine the more often it needs to be cleaned
7.thread catching on the bobbin spring or latch on bobbin case, check to see that the bobbin is inserted completely & correctly, & that you are using the right kind of bobbin

also check the thread take up lever to make sure the thread has not come off of it cause that can make the machine jam up also

I tried to change the bobbin and the machine would not run, so I took it out and now I can't get bobbin out of the holder. It appears to be stuck.
The lever on the front of the bobbin holder locks the bobbin so it does not fall out when you insert the assembly. Do not lift the lever when you try get the bobbin out, it should just fall into your hand. If it does not, look to see if the latch on the lever has not jammed on the bobbin.

Singer 3820 Bobbin Issues? I can't sew!
Unthread the machine completely, remove the bobbin.

Make sure that the bobbin case is securely in its place.

Turn the handwheel and ensure that the bobbin case is not jamming.

Turn the handwheel until the take-up lever is in the highest position.

Raise the presser foot and rethread the machine.

Chaeck the upper tension setting and set it around 5.

ALways make sure that you start sewing, stop sewing and thread the machine with the TAKE-UP LEVER IN THE HIGHEST POSITION.

Bobbin tension
I had the opposite problem it may be that the lower tension is too tight (mine was too loose).
To fix it you have to take the bobbin case out completely to access the tension adjustment screw. - Remove the 2 screws holding the metal plate with a nickel and remove the plastic piece over the bobbin case - there is a small metal lever on the lower left side that needs to be pressed down. You can then remove the bobbin case. There are 3 screws - the center one is the tension adjustment. It was painted green on my machine.  It appears that it is not a regular setting change, but a bad adjustment from the factory. So if you don't feel comfortable doing all that returning the machine for another will likely fix the issue.
