1. Decide which songs you'd like to transfer to your Sony Network Walkman. Convert them from your audio CDs into audio files, or download your songs from the Internet in MP3 format and save them to the music library in Windows Media Player.

2. Connect the Sony Network Walkman to your personal computer using the USB cable.

3. Select the songs you want to transfer to your Walkman and copy them into your Windows Media Library. This can be done by clicking the Media Library tab in the Windows Media Player.

4. For easier transferring of songs, create a playlist for the contents you choose . Check out sites online or go to the Help option in Windows Media Player.

5. Select the contents you wanted to be copied by selecting them all and right-clicking. After that, choose the tab Copy to CD or Device. Click on the up in the right corner and wait for the songs to be copied into the portable device.

Are you trying to synch tracks directly from a CD. If you are, you first have to rip the tracks. In windows Media player, you first need to setup the type of file you want to rip to (MP3 in this case). Right click on the top bar of the WMP and select Tools|Options. Select the Rip tab and under the rip settings, change the format to MP3. Select the quality you want (higher quality means less music can be stored on your unit). 192 kbps is a good setting. Now, click OK or apply as appropriate to get out of the menu. Insert your CD and click on the RIP tab of WMP. Your CD's tracks should automatically come up with checks marks beside them. Start the RIP process. Once it is complete, you can then drag the newly ripped files from your library to the Walkman and they should be synched.

Hi i have a sony walkman nw a1200 which my friend has given me, how can I get music on it thanks

Hi karenmoore06...

Downloading Music to MP3 Player

1...You must download and install Windows Media Player 11 on your computer.
NOTE...Some older MP3 players will not work with Windows Media Player 11 or Windows 7 with Windows Media Player 11.
If this happens to you, then you will have to uninstall Windows Media Player 11 and install Windows Media Player 10.
2...After you have downloaded and installed Media Player on your computer.
3...Open Media Player on your computer.
4...Install all your music into Media Player that you want to install on your MP3 player.
5...Plug in your MP3 player to the computer using your Data/Sync cord, be sure that Windows Media Player is on.
6...Media player should recognize the MP3 player and sync with it.
7...After it is sync'ed with the computer, you can add the music you have installed into Windows Media Player to your MP3 Player.

I have an AA file that I downloaded from audible.com, it's a book. When I try to sync it to the Sony Walkman from Windows Media Play, I get an error. The error says "Windows Media Player cannot sync...

The "AA" file type is not supported in the NWZ MP3 players. However, you are still able to place audiobooks onto your player if you convert the file to one of the supported file audio formats: MP3. WMA, AAC-LC, and PCM. Remember that there are several iterations of MP3, such as variable bit rate and frequency range and the player does not play some of them.

What I do is that I pull the file into Audacity and convert it there. Another option is that if you can burn the audiobook onto a CD, you can then rip to WMP and then sync it to your player. That is how I get my language audiobooks onto my player. The last option, which I have never tried, is to get it into ITunes, then sync it to your player that way. ITunes will automatically convert the file before syncing it onto the player.

Hope that helps.

My sony walkman doesn't have database that's why i can't play music, how can i make database?

--**Windows Media Player**--
If you have a large playlist to transfer, you may prefer to do it from your media player, such as Windows Media Player. Once your MP3 player is connected to the computer, open Windows Media Player. Click on the "Sync Music" tab. Drag songs that you want from your Windows Media Library over to the "Sync Music" column to create a playlist. Click the "Begin Sync" tab at the bottom once you have all of the songs on your playlist. This action will sync all of the songs to your MP3 player with one click. Disconnect your device once songs have been transferred by clicking on the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the bottom-right side of the desktop tray.

Mp3

if it doesn't sync, don't worry just open the folder where the music files are stored on your computer, connect your Sony Walkman to your computer and highlight the music files you want to add to the Walkman and select (copy these files) a windows will open for you to select the place you want to copy to, select your mp3 player and click on copy to copy the selected music to your Walkman

NOTE: if you Sony Walkman has a specific folder for music files, you need to move the songs you copied from your hard drive's music folder to the music folder on your mp3 player for the player to recognize the songs in order to play.

Download SonicStage at: http://www.download.com/Sony-Connect-SonicStage-/3000-2141_4-10375164.html
Install it and you should be able to do USB file downloads. You will need also to get OpenMG software to make the install complete.
I hope this helps
