Hello,

You might need to clean the printhead or replace the ink cartridges. Depending on what type of paper you are using the problem could be that the printhead nozzles are dirty or have accumulated some type of contamination. To clean then remove the ink cartridges and with a lint free cloth wipe the bottom contacts of the ink cart from front to back. Then put them back in the printer and run an clean printhead by going to the Maintenance menu of the printer. That should help with the quality of the printing.

How come my Canon ImageClass MF4122 printer gives fuzzy images?

That is best bet since it appears that your print head is fubar and Canon charges a fortune for them. Cheaper to get a new printer with warranty.

Hi when i print lines appear in my printout - i have ran the maintenance checks and nozzle check utility seems fine although the black looks a bit fuzzy - do you know how to resolve this problem please?...

If you haven't done so, run the alignment setup again. If that doesn't work, put in new cartridges and see if there are still lines in your printout. This will check if it's a printer issue or cartridge issue. Here's a PDF from epson on how to run the alignment setup. See page 11. http://files.support.epson.com/pdf/r300__/r300__pg.pdf

Picture becomes fuzzy and lined, clears with a sharp rap on the top of case.

probably a bad connection on the circuit board inside that heats up over time. the tap on the top probably moves the connection just enough To make it good for short time.
