Try Reseting the voice, Tools-Setings-Language.Make sure the Voice you choose has (TTS) Beside it.If that doesnt work try Resetting the GPS.The Reset button in on the bottom of unt,under the Serial Number.Good luck.

you will find speak street names in the change voice area on your device.

Yes Nickarino is right.
When I switched on my new tom tom it gave me that option to speak street names and it vanished after selected a different voice. I checked all manuals and web references in Tom Tom - none of them list it.
Like Nick said - what you need to do is swtich the voice type to SAMANTHA and it will show the option "Read Street Names Loudly". I jumped on it and said yes ..!!!

1-change preferences
2-change voice

than you need to select female voice but it might be female computer voice! Because only female computer voice can speak street names.

In the voice setup, you have to choose a voice that has TTS (text to speech) option. The other voices, while they might sound better, can't read street names. Once I selected a voice that has TTS it started working.
