1-issue command dir all or show flash
2-delete old file and squeeze it.
3-take out flash card, use card reader to save new asdm file
4.insert back to ASA, change boot system and reload

I had this same issue on my ASA 5520.

1. Copy the config and IOS image to a tftp server.
2. Format flash (disk0)
3. set rommon server, ip addy, and file settings.
4. tftpdnld
5. Once the system has booted to the image copy the asa image file, asdm image file, and config to flash
6. configure asdm image default location and reload

Console to asa 5520

Your are correct, it is a 5520 ASA and thus it requires immediate attention. Console is dependent on the 5520 without a doubt and should you fail to connect them accordingly; the entire process will be in vein. Good luck Captain.

How to counfugre asa 5505 cisco Router

Use the Cisco ASDM or SDM software, that will give you an easy graphical interface to configure the ASA. One of them would have been shipped with the device.

Don't forget the ASA has to pre-configured, just a simple config. Have HTTPS enabled and telnet/SSH helps as well if you dont have a serial port or the console cable.

Cisco's website will give you quite a lot of info for free...

Hello all can you please help me on how to restore the configuration of my ASA 5520? thanx

If you are going for factory reset use the following commands

asa>enable
asa#write erase
asa#reload

Dont save the configuration when it prompts for it.

if you want to restore the configuration from the backup

1. You need to have a TFTP server
2. Locate the config file on your TFTP server
3. TFTP server should be reachable from ASA

then

asa#copy tftp flash

give the tftp server ip address
give the configuration file name (as exactly on the TFTP server)

reload

Cisco asa5505 problem

You seem to have the last resort (o.o.o.o) set to VLAN1 which is set as an inside interface.
Is VLAN1 connected to the outside router or internet backbone?
If not, change the last resort to the outside Ethernet port.

Installation of cisco asa 5510 firewall

If you can't get the manament working initially I suggest the following

Setup a console connection
Type "enable" and press enter to access priveleged exec mode on the ASA
Type "config terminal" and press enter to access configuration mode
Type "configure factory-default" and press enter to load default settings.
Assign a static IP to your PC of 192.168.1.5 and try to browse to https://192.168.1.1 (PC is plugged into management interface)

You should be prompted to begin using ASDM
