Thick Stock
Paper thicker than 90 g/m2 (24 lb bond) is referred to as thick stock. Test all thick stock to ensure acceptable performance and to ensure that the image does not shift.
43 lb bond is also referred to as 90 lb index stock.

Duplex printing with card stock paper jams in back on Brother MFC-9840CDW

I would try manually inserting the paper for the back side. Most of the time it's best to wait a few minutes before trying the back side to give it time to cool so it will lie flat.

I have an HP Photosmart A646 printer that I bought in the hopes of printing to 5x7 card stock. We have pre-printed card stock that we use for gift certificates and we need to be able to feed the card stock...

Thanks for visiting FixYa!

Depending on the program you are using to print your gift certificates, try this-

1) Open the program and open the file you use for your gift certificate.
2) Click on 'Layout' then 'Page Set Up' (probably found in the top menu bar by the right side of, FILE.)
3) Select 'Landscape' and then select, 'Custom'.
4) Enter 5x7 for height and width.
5) Enter the information you need in the data field, (ie, name address, etc.)
6) Select, Print.
7) When the 'Print Manager' box opens, click on, 'Properties'.
8) Click on, 'Type' and choose, "Envelope'.
9) Click on, 'Size' and choose 5x7. - and click, OK.

Your printer should have a slide where the paper is inserted. Place one of the 5x7 cards in the slot just as you would an envelope and slide the slider until it is 'close' to the card but not directly against the card.

Click, 'Print'. The printer should recognize the card (due to its thickness) as an envelope and print it.

Will this printer print on heavy card stock and

Yes the 2600 will print on heavy card stock and vellum paper. I had one and did some landscape proposals on this printer and also printed on card stock as well.

If there printer is not able to print on card stock then check the recommend
card stock paper thickness, if the printer works with normal paper but not card stock then there is problem in the card stock and by using this paper may also damage the rollers on the printer and make the printer useless ...

HP C4280 incorrect paper feed

Check your printer's capability.

Buy the card stock they recommend.

If all else fails, print on plain and take card stock to a copy shop and have them do it for you.

Walking there beats going nuts over stupid software or hardware problems

Blinking yellow light

Hi,
I m not sure what the specification of the paper type you are using however if you are using card stock than you should use manual feed Tray and in the printer driver properties you should select paper type as Card-Stock to make sure there is no print quality issue.

Printing on Card Stock

Hi Harold,

Most laser printers automatically adjust not the temperature so much as the speed at which the media travels through the fuser when thicker stock is used.

The important thing here is to make sure that when you are using card stock that you insure that the printer is set for the correct "PAPER TYPE" from the tray you are using.

When the paper type is set to card stock, you should notice that the media will print somewhat slower, thus giving the fuser the ability to achieve the correct fusing temperature through the thicker stock.

Good luck
