I want to add fog lamps to my '01 Mustang convertible. I can get the lamps, brackets & dash switch from Ford at reasonable prices. My question: Does the existing wiring harness include wiring for the fog lamps? Is the add-on installation simply a matter of installing the hardware and plugging everything together? Is there any relay in the circuit? Any other hints or advice is welcome. Thanks, Russ

I dont think current wiring harness is set up for fog lights but fuse box should have a spot for relay and fuse (although it may or may not have metal leads installed) if your getting parts from ford i ask them if they have wiriring harness for it
if you decide to wire them in yourself i would HIGHLY recomend u put a relay in the system if you dont you will have to use bigger wire tho the whole sytem. with a relay u only have use the bigger wire from relay to lights. You will also have to use a heavy duty switch u will burn up factory switch if dont use a realy

OK problem #1 - I installed a fog light kit on my 1966 Mustang, with a toggle under the dash. I would like to wire it to my parking lights. But now it goes out after being flipped on for a while-either I...

I don't know how you wired it into your electrical system. But, this is how you should have done it. Two ground wires, one from each lamp need to be grounded to the vehicles frame. The other two power leads from each lamp need to run to the switch in the vehicles cabin area. The power supply from the battery should have a 20 amp circuit breaker between the power supply (battery) and the switch it connects too. The fog lamps draw a lot of amps and if you hook to an existing power supply you will cause an overload and thus they will heat the circuit breaker up until it opens the circuit. They will not come on again until the breaker cools off. You can purchase a circuit breaker from any auto parts store. They are cheap and easy to obtain. You can mount it in the engine compartment on the fenderwell between your battery and the switch.

Fog lamps

a bad relay is your most likely cause.  It's inside the fuse box.

Headlights flickering off and on 1999 mustang

do you have the fog lamps on at the same time? If yes, don't use them.

If not, it could be the headlamp switch. Something is drawing too much current.

Installing new fog/driving lights on an 03 mustang. there are wires attached to the fake switch on the dash. Is there a plug somewhere that I just plug into the fog light bulb?

the fog light is normally one complete assembly that you just unplug from the outside and replace with a new one auto zone is a good place to help with this
