Cant see ps3 main menu

Hi

before i was trying to change view from avi to HDMI
but i made mistake that audio only change to HDMI & picture AV

now i want to go back to the main menu of ps3 to change the setting
but i cant. when i put CD the picture you can see it from AV with out sound thats ok when i remove or turn off the CD to enter the main menu setting

it turn to black screen

how can i view the main menu or whats the way to let the main menu of ps get back as defult setting?

When in standby hold down the power button for over 4 seconds, it runs the optimal screen settings menu, hope this helps.

You need to do a video reset to your system. You might have to do this every time you go between HDMI and A/V. Here is a link how. It's really easy. ^^ Good luck. P.S. It's the same for every model of the PS3.

hello chis, it may the ps3 your having trouble with connect ps3 to hdmi 1 reset the ps3 by doing this. press and hold the standby button on the front of the ps3 you will hear 1 bleep then 2 short bleeps after the short bleeps release the button this will reset the display setting on the ps3 you should get1080p if this dfon't work feel free to get back to me thanks

Cant get picture on psa3 slim hdmi or av
conect your ps3 with hdmi to TV then put your TV on hdmi by its remote controler, ps3 is still turned of. Then press switch of/on ps3 buton and hold it for 5 - 7 second cca., You will hear a double beep sound and after that you can turn your ps3 on. Then just follove the instructions.

I have a sony wega KDF42WE655 TV(42 inch). It has a HDMI port I recently bought a PS3 and hooked it up to the TV. With the HDMI port connected I do not get any picture or sound. Attempts of rebooting...
There is a separate IC on the main board that does nothing but process the HDMI signal, basically if your using the cable, AVI or any other input other than HDMI and chances are that is bad, it can be replaced if you have a lot of electronic experience, its a $3 chip but its not easy to replace..I would replace the main board if you can find one, sometimes main boards are hard to find..below is a link to the service manual.

Your ps3 could be in component mode. You will have to hook it back up on component mode, and go to the ps3 menu and change the setting to hdmi.

Ps3 does not appear menu screen & AVI cable trouble
To fix the HDMI AV cable issue just do a manual video reset. When you power on the PS3 hold down the power button until you hear two beeps then quickly remove. If you have other problems I would suggest doing a System Restore under Settings.

Connect PS3 for playing/viewing blue-ray thru surround sound
I just finished setting up my system last night and was facing similar problems with sound/video from my PS3. The only option I could get working was to have the HDMI cable connected from the PS3 to the TV and then connect the Optical cable to the receiver for sound. I was under the impression that HDMI handles sound and video but for whatever reason the PS3 does not agree.

I have DTS sound and fantastic picture now through my PS3, hope this helps.

Have both the AV cables and hdmi cables hooked up from the tv to the ps3. On the TV Menu goto the av station which is different from the HDMi station...From the ps3 menu screen gotot settings then to video and audio and select hdmi then back to the tv menu and select the hdmi station and the ps3 main menu should be seen and you are all set

Connect the PS3 to your TV with the hdmi cable and to the surround sound system with a digital optical cable, then set your PS3 to output sound through the optical port (through the sound options menu) and you're good to go!
