My frigidaire gas range has a F90 on it when I tried the self cleaning oven feature

My advice is never to use the self cleaning feature. Each time you use it you are a little closer to breaking something, elements, fans, door latches and one poor man who had a burned / melted control board which was obsolete so he had to purchase a new range. We see it here all the time. It is a great way to sell spare parts. 800 to 1000'F is just too severe for the parts.

If the oven display is showing LOC, then the lockout feature was enabled. Press and hold the key pad with the padlock symbol for 3+ seconds. This is just below the Timer On/Off key pad and to the right of the Light key pad. You should see the word DOOR and the padlock icon flash until the door is unlocked and the control panel is released.

If the word DOOR and the padlock icon are lit, then the oven is in the self-clean mode. The lock should release after you cancel the self-cleaning cycle by pressing off and the oven cools down (at least one hour). Unfortunately, sometimes the heat of the self-clean cycle will damage the oven. Either the oven temperature sensor will not give the release signal or the door lock will not disengage. In that case, the oven needs to have the correct part serviced.

If for any reason you have difficulties pulling up the requested information, I recommend taking off the last letter of the model number so you can pull up the data

Error Code E90 typically means that you have a faulty motor door latch, lock motor assembly, door light switch or a defective EOC. You would need this to be diagnosed by a professional technician in order to properly repair the wall oven.

Lift top - there is a quater inch button on the black box behind the door lock - use screwdriver to press the button in - resets

Hi, F90 is usually a faulty Door Lock Motor. A way to try to fix it would be removing , then reapplying power, the door locks should cycle until they detect (by switches) that they are in the open position. If that does not work you may want to check the switch as well as the motor, but It is dangerous voltage in there.If you are handy and safety oriented you may want to pull out the lock motor and have a look at those switches and wiring as it may be stuck/burnt. You may wan't to call a service professional out to look at it. Might run you about $200 for a new motor (parts and labor)

F93 Maximum oven door lock time exceeded.
F94 Maximum oven door lock attempts exceeded.


1. (F90, 91, 92, 93 & 94) Check the wiring between EOC & Lock Motor Micro Switch.

2. (F90, 91, 92, 93 & 94) Replace the Motor Door Latch assembly if necessary.

3. (F90, 91, 92, 93 & 94) Check for binding of the Latch Cam, Lock Motor Rod & Lock Motor Cam.

4. (F90, 91, 92, 93 & 94) Check to see if Lock Motor Coil is open. If open, replace Lock Motor Assembly.

5. (F90, 91, 92, 93 & 94) Lock Motor continuously runs - if Micro Switch is open, replace Lock Motor Assembly.

6. (F92, 93 & 94) Check oven door Light Switch - if open, replace Switch.

7. If all situations above do not solve problem, replace EOC.


F90 is a door lock code, Try this...
unplug the range.
wait 1 minute.
turn the range back on,
then while holding in on the oven door.
start another self clean.
wait 2 minutes.
then cancel the self clean.

do not release the door until the door lock light goes out.

door will remain locked until oven cools, this is a safety feature

find the circuit breaker panel and turn off the one labeled "oven". wait 30 minutes and restart. any luck?
