I have a Panasonic rear projection tv Model TX-51P400H which is now 5 years old. Upon turning on the tv recently the picture was out of convergence with three images on screen - one red, one blue and one green. The only previous indication of a problem was for the previous month the tv when turned on showed an overly bright picture without much contrast. It settled down after an hour or so. All attempts to adjust the convergence with the remote control following the operation manual for the tv failed to achieve a satisfactory result. The best result obtained to date is a reasonable image in the centre of the screen with the perimeter of the screen still showing the three images (red, blue and green). After a short period of time the convergence goes off again. A technician friend (retired) replaced the brightness capacitator as his past experience with crt tv's indicated that this can effect convergence. This made no difference to the convergence.

Thanks for the advice. I will give it a go when my tech friend is next available.
Having the same problem with the Convergence on our rear projection tv. The issue however, is just with the Green, the red and blue both line up but the green seems to have a fish bowl effect. The green images mush towards the middle, then spread out when it's gets to the outside part of the screen. I was wondering if maybe there was an issue with the bulb or the bulb casing, since it's is strictly for the green, while the blue and red were dead on where it should be. Any suggestions?
Same problem. When I turned the tv off on friday evening, it was working fine. I turned it on saturday morning and it was all screwed up. The center converges, but each side will not converge the blue, red and green. I have tried to converge it with the remote, but it dosen't work.
I also have the same problem except it is only the red that cannot be adjusted and it is only on the left side of the screen. I can't seem to find anyone that will work on this problem. I like the TV and I don't want to buy another one. My set is only 3 years old. Any suggestions???

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE CONVERGENCE. I TRIED TO LINE THEM UP WITH THE BUTTONS ON THE TV......DIDNT WORK. TRIED THE REMOTE....DIDNT WORK. MY SCREEN IS ALMOST ALLIGNED ON THE LEFT SIDE BUT THE RIGHT SIDE THE GREEN LINE IS OFF AND SLANTS UP TOWARDS THE TOP, THE BLUE AND THE RED ARE ALSO OFF LIKE THE RED IS OFF FROM THE RIGHT SIDE SO IT NEEDS TO MOVE TO THE RIGHT CAUSE IT GOES TO THE LEFT AND THE BLUE IS OFF JUST A LITTLE. LIKE THE LEFT SIDE IS ALMOST GOOD BUT THE LEFT SIDE OF THE TV IS OFF KINDA ALOT. I STILL PLAY VIDEO GAMES ON IT BUT IT IS HARD, ALMOST LIKE 3D OR SOMETHING. I WAS WONDERING HOW YOU ADJUST IT AND WITH WHAT. I BOUGHT THE TV ON CRAIGSLIST AND I LIKE IT DEFINITLY AM NOT GETTING RID OF IT. PLEASE SEND ME A SUGGESTION. EMAIL ME AT [email protected].
Thanks,
jake
I also have the same problem only the colors are blue and yellow that are not aligned. Hope this can be fixed but concerned after reading the other posts.
Well I had the same problem, I have a technician come out and take a look at it and he said it the IC controller, but then he took something out and said he need to send it in for repair. two days later my warranty company call me and said that they can't fix the problem and that they will get me a different TV. I didn't ask the tech guy what he took out to be fix but I should of ask. the company that make the chip set that he took out are not in business anymore so there's not alot of hope guys.
