you better get at this soon,the lip-seal is gone from the outer tub and now water has penetrated the bearings behind this lip-seal,the longer you wait the harder it will be to remove these bearings and if its a plastic outer tub you can destroy this tub when removing the old bearings,the inner tub needs to be removed,the rear access needs to be open the motor pulley removed,the c-clip that secures the outer bearing needs removing then the inner tub can come out the front to access these bearings for replacement
Hello,It's fairly straight forward,not easy though.The facial comes off(take the dispenser out and remove the four screws), front of the machine comes off (3 screws at the bottom and 3 behind the facial,the outer tub front comes off.)The pulley on the rear comes off,the inner drum can be knocked through.This gives you access to the bearings and bearing seal,not the easiest to get out.A lot of the time the outer race is left behind from the front bearing and it's a nightmare to get out.Hotpoint use a special bearing tool,get yourself a spider and bearing kit as well as a new tub seal. Once the bearings starts to get worn enough it usually gets very noisy. The tub bearing is pressed onto the outer back half of the tub shell assembly. Normally need to replace the inner basket/shaft assembly and the outer shell with the tub bearing. Sometimes the inner basket support will crack, this can give an clicking or banging noise as well.
