Maytag MSD2651KES delivers crushed ice but no cubed

There is an metal arm that extends out behind the ice bucket that moves up and down when you press the cubed/crushed ice buttons. You need to take the ice bucket out and check the hardware. It's possible that some ice has managed to form in the unit and are blocking the motion. Remove any ice and check if the arm moves freely when you press the buttons on the refrigerator. Similarly, you should check if there is ice blocking the forward and back motion of the plunger in the freezer that bar sits on. This plunger is right next to the auger motor.

My ice maker stop working

Knowing how an ice maker works can greatly increase your ability to diagnose and repair it. Just like vehicles, ice makers all may look different but they all work on the same princible. A thermostat starts the ball rolling, turning on a motor and a heater to loosen the ice, as the ice dumps a trigger fires up the water valve and refills it. The whole thing comes to a halt and waits till the thermostat gets satisfied once again.
So what can go wrong? The ice maker will give a clue. If their is ice in the ice maker but none in the bucket that is an ice maker failure. If the ice mold is empty and no ice in the bucket then the water valve is bad.
One thing you can do is get a bottle of water and fill the mold. If it kicks out a batch but no more, water valve replacement needed. If it don't then ice maker problem. If you have shelling or fouled cubes, look for dirty coils below the ice box that make for faulty cooling. Ice forms at 32f but ice mold tstats don't kick in the afterburners till 25f. Sears side by side fridge model# 10652542101. ice won't work but water works fine. have heard that icemaker screen may be the issue, but would like a manual so i can clean or repair it. sears has no...

There is no "screen". Most of these units have dual water valve on rear of unit (two valves on one mounting bracket) located on lower right side of unit. Follow inlet line to where it terminates, you will see water valve. First thing to determine, is the ice maker making ice and not dropping it thru door, or no ice dropping into bucket. Stick finger into I/M and see if you feel ice or if it is empty. If empty (no ice) chance are that I/M is problem, not water valve. Check I/M by pouring water from small glass into I/M,let sit for 2-3 hours and see if it drops ice into bucket, if it does, possible bad water valve, if it doesn't, bad I/M. Those are standard I/M & water valves, available at most applianc parts stores including sears.

Why is there water in the ice bucket of my ice maker? It is a GE side by side, but without the dispenser in the door.

hello, how are you, if there is water in your ice bucket, it seems as though when your icemaker sends a signal to water valve to give water, your water valve is sending too much water into icemaker, the solution would be to replace water valve which is behind the refrigerator at the bottom. it should be blue in color which clear plastic tubing connected to it. This happens when the water valve solenoid doesnt close completely.

Ice machine just hums

First off, you cannot use a bucket of water and a line to get the ice machine to operate. Ice makers don't have a suction pump in them, they rely on having a water supply line with pressure to push the water into the machine.

You can connect the machine to a water line and see if it will cycle, that is, take water into the unit without leaking.

Beyond that, in order to check out the unit, you will need to provide the Brand and model number in order to find a user's manual, which will provide all the details on operation and installation for it.

The good news is you might have a nice ice machine for free.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

ICE MAKER NOT MAKING ICE, WATER NOT FEEDING INTO ICE MAKER

you may have a frozen inlet tube coming in to the ice maker. This is caused from a bad water valve and you would need to replace the water valve.

We are trying to use our White Mountain Electric Ice Cream Maker for the first time. We put eveything together but when we turn it on the motor makes a buzzing type sound but we can not tell if the dasher...

I am intimately familiar with the 6 qt electric model, so let me give it a whirl. Our church uses 5 of these things to make 90 gallons of ice cream for the church ice cream social each summer, so they do hold up.

Your problem could be several things. The first thing I would do is to take the drive unit by itself and plug it in to the electrical outlet and see if it makes the same noise as when totally assembled. If it does, we'll deal with that in a minute. If it worked okay disconnected, then there's something binding in the dasher or the pivot piece in the bottom of the wood bucket. Once the mix is in the stainless canister and centered on the pivot bump, the dasher spindle that sticks out from the top of the canister lid fits in a certain way and then you must rotate the canister to get the lid to properly seat in the drive unit. Once all that is in place, it should clamp down properly on the bucket.

If the motor sounds the same as when assembled, then you could check to see if there's any lubricant in the gear housing(yellow metal thing the motor sits on). It's just a couple of screws to remove to take a peek. White mountain will get you a new motor assembly for a $10 shipping fee if you can produce a copy of the original sales receipt. the warranty is good for 5 years. Call 800-343-0065(old number but should stil be good).

One tip on making ice cream; when you get it going, don't cool the mixture too quickly as it makes the product really icy tasting and sort of "crunchy". If you get really crazy, monitor the temperature of the brine with an infrared temp gun or one of those thermometers with the remote probes. 8-12 degrees Fareinheit is ideal and that can be achieved by using a 5-1 ratio of ice to salt. If the temp gets below that, add some water or more ice. If the temp isn't getting down to 12 degrees, then add more salt. a cup of salt is usually good for about a 5 degree drop. Make sure you use the Morton Rock salt in the red box at the store. Water softener salt and regular table salt will either melt too slowly or too quickly for best results. Also make sure your ice has been at least partially crushed or it won't melt fast enough. Cubes need al ot of crushing, and even the ice from the convenience stor needs a wooden mallet taken to it before using. We had an old Alaskan ahand cranked ice crusher that worked perfectly. It was made back in the ealry 1900's. bought it on ebay for like $30. Our recipe comes out perfect after about 17-20 minutes of churning. the white mountain motor is strong enough that it will keep on spinning the product until it tuns it into butter, so a timer is critical for best results. Great ice crema making info on the web from the Universitry of Guelph in Ontario Canada.

Good luck

Max
