Hi Asad, I'm sorry to tell you that SL dv280 and SL dv290 are not compatible, they have the same connector, but different signal configuration
Do not try to test, because you could damage the devices
To work well, you must replace all of the devices with those of line 290

No intentes probar, porque podrias perjudicar los aparatos
Para que funcione bien, deberas reemplazar la totalidad delos aparatos por los de la linea 290

i am trying to do same thing - i suggest connect ps3 via optical cable to hi fi red/ white cables via a optical/ rca adaptor, the ps3 is connected to tv via hdmi so play dvd via ps3 sound will play through hi fi - but remember dont need the yellow dvd cable from hifi dvd player to tv any more as you will be using the ps3 as a dvd player instead

hello it sound like the output ic may be in trouble you may have just dry joint on the ic which just resolder it . or there could be a capacitor leaking or they may have swelled up in which you will have to replace. it's best to do some visual checks first i'e look for any burnt parts any capacitor with bulging tops

i once had a panasonic dvd player which displayed the same code H02 and used the same drive mechanism as your player. this turned out to be a worn spindle motor and once replaced, all worked fine. you may well have the same fault. hope this helps?

sl-dv 290u meu refuza sa functioneze. Knd il aprind se aude un barait in boxe si se stinge. Ce pot face pentru a remedia aceasta problema?

did you buy your system in adifferent region and moved with it to another? I heared something like some DVD players are region-locked. I could be wrong but google about region-lock... try this among others: http://dvd-player-software-review.toptenreviews.com/what-is-dvd-region-lock.html

u need a new motor in yr dvd player i had same problem so had new motor fitted cost 50 pound works now
