Could be speaker wires shorted together, but it is more likely that there is a fault in the output transistors or the power supply. The front right and left normally produce the most sound output and those transistors run hotter than the other channels. If you have the equipment and know how to check the output transistors, I would start there.
Modern AV receivers such as your NAD have protection circuits to prevent damage when there is a short on the speaker terminals. Look carefully at the speaker connections on the back of the AV receiver- for example, the speaker cable for front left speakers labelled + and - : there should not be any stray strands of wire that connect from + to - ; this would be a short circuit. Check each of the connections on the AV receiver as well as on the back of each of your Speakers themselves. Also ensure all connections are snug (do not use pliers). If this does not solve your problem, you may need to take your AV receiver on for a service checkup. Good luck !
Try a factory reset of the receiver.
To perform a factory reset, press and hold the MENU and SOURCE buttons until Factory Reset is displayed. Then Power Off from Back panel for 1 minute and power up normally.
You may have damaged the receiver if you did not power off before installing the Onyx module.
This is the technical solution, you have to open the unit: Locate IC33 and connect pin 6 to ground, connect power, and then remove the ground connection at pin 6. The unit will then boot up in factory default.
try hitting f10 on the start up, this will take you to system restore, yes you will lose all your valuables on you computer, but this will restore your computer to factory defaults. hope this helps..
