1-Projector is in standby, so I hit the power button. 2-Green power light comes on, and lamp light flashes green (warm-up). 3-Lamp light goes solid green, but no picture. (However, if you look at the lens, you can barely make out the image, .) 4-Faint lens image goes away, and lamp light blinks green again. 5-after about 7-8 repetitions of this process, the lamp light starts blinking red, and power light blinks green. Finally, both lights go red, and projector does a bit of cooling, and reverts to standby. Lamp use was approx 400-450 hrs at this point. What is wrong?

I think it's capacitor issue on the power supply board. open it, look for power supply board and fine bloated capacitor and replace it.

green green is power on, normal
then it tries to light the lamp, but it can't so the protection circuit comes activated.
you get red and green blinking

Then it goes to standby, red and off.

so something has happened to the lamp, or lamp ballast power supply.
Take the lamp out and check if all is OK with the 2 terminals in the connector, and the leads to the lamp are intact.

Failing that, I would suspect the ballast lamp power unit

Optoma 719, can't get lamp and fan to turn on.

There is a stuffed 10v 3300uf capacitor on the power board. You need to replace it.
Bellow you can check in the picture where the capacitor is located.

Notice that in this picture I have already took the bad capacitor out and replaced with two small cords to reach the bottom and test the new capacitor.
To reach this place is not fast, several layers of plastic and metal must be removed, but is not a hard task to take the capacitor out and replace it for another.
It works just great! Now it is back on track with awesome image.

Intermittent lamp turn off

I was told by the repair service to unplug the power cord for about 5min. This resets the internal computer. I think this helps but does not cure the cause. Good luck.

SONY GRAND WEGA

I have a KDF60XS955. When I power it on, the fan comes on, the standby light flashes green several times, the lamp comes on and the standby light goes to solid green. This lasts for less than 5 seconds then the lamp goes out, followed by ~30 green standby flashes, the lamp coming on with the solid green standby light for about 5 seconds then shuts off the lamp again. I can hear/feel the fan running the enitre time. This cycle continues endlessly. Please help!
