My anvil electric grill not warm

Could be a couple of things. First check to make sure you have power. Then after checking that open up the bottom with the power unplugged and check the heating element with a OHM meter. Don't know about a OHM meter or Multimeter is, then go on google or YOUTUBE and learn how to use one and if you don't own one, borrow one -- WHile in the OHM meter range check by putting each of the wire leads to each of the heating element ends, IF it registers O.OO, then the problem is NOT the heating element, but could be the thermostatic KNOB CONTROL. IF it is knob thermostat, just order a new one and VOILA! You're back in business!~ Hope that helps,
Jon

Broke bit inside chuck and piece is lodged in there now. Pulling out on chuck release does not allow broken part of bit to come out. Do I need to take drill apart or remove chuck to get broken bit out of...

TAKE THE OUTER CHUCK PEICES OFF THE IMPACT!! THERE WILL BE A C-CLIP, WASHER, SPRING AND ONE OR TWO BALL BEARINGS AND THE OUTER HOUSING, IN THAT ORDER! WITH ALL OF THAT OFF, MOUNT THE ANVIL IN A BENCH VISE WITH BRASS JAWS OR BETWEEN TWO PEICES OF WOOD, UPSIDE DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE TRICK IS TO HAVE THE BIT FALL OUT OF THE CHUCK ONCE IT IS LOOSE!!!! NOW WITH IT MOUNTED IN THE VICE AND PRETTY TIGHT, TURN THE TOOL ON UNTILL IT FALLS OUT, IT WORKS GREAT IF HAVE DONE IT ABOUT 75 TIMES!! MOST PEOPLE THINK I'M A WIZARD!! BUT IT'S REALLY EASY. WITH IT MOUNTED SOLID IN THE VISE THE ANVIL HITS SO FAST AND HARD IT VIBRATES THE ANVIL, IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE BALL BEARINGS HOLDING THE BIT, YOU WILL BE DOING THIS ALL DAY. SOMETIMES, IN THE CHEAPER BITS IT WILL ROTATE AND GALL UP SO BAD THAT IT WILL NEVER COME OUT, IN THAT CASE YOUR BUYING A NEW ANVIL ASSY. JIMS TOOL SERVICE

Hello I am replacing the thermostat in a grill and want to know the order of the wiring. (lost the sequence.)

Should be 2 black and 2 white wires -- each of these wires should be connected to the 2 connections going into the Thermostatic Control Knob. Hope that helps -- IF you still are unsure, then CONTACT ANVIL or VOLLRATH and they will email this to you.

Hope that helps,
Jon

Driver will not return to rest position,

The plunger or anvil has damage, or your return spring in the chamber is broken. This could also be caused by mechanical issue in the anvil track.

No brad

Your anvil is not returning to the home position to allow the brad to index into the receiver. Try and push the anvil up all the way to the home position. If that works, then you need lubrication, new return spring, etc. All related to the anvil firing.

Replace front strut

You will need a strut spring compressor. You can probably buy a cheap one for about as much as a shop would charge you to install a new spring on your strut.

Sometimes you can even "borrow" these from your local parts store with a deposit.

It is probably faster to do it yourself than bring it to a shop.

You need to compress the spring before you put it in the strut housing. Directions should be included with the spring compressor kit.

Here's the general directions:

Take the two bolts on the bottom off

There may be a bolt holding the brake line in place (remove it)

Take the three bolts on the top off

The strut assembly should be free now.

Pull strut assembly out and set it on the floor

The top nut holds the top bearing plate and that holds the spring in place.

Remove the top nut

Remove old broken spring

Compress new spring and put it in place on the strut

Put strut top plate on and secure locknut

Release spring compressor.

Reinstall strut assembly in car.

Good Luck!
