Can't download ever since I downloaded IE 8 I've been unable to download anything, anything at all. Please advise, Thank You, Amy

There could be several reasons why IE8 is hanging. If you're using Windows Vista / 7 you may want to upgrade to IE-9. Click here to download IE-9

If you're using Windows XP, you can try the following:

1) Click here to: Reset Internet Explorer settings

2) Click here for: What to do if Internet Explorer stops responding

3) Make sure you have Service Pack 2 or Service Pack 3 installed on your PC. IE-8 only runs correctly with SP2 or SP3.

4) Re-install IE-8. Click here to Download IE-8 If you can't get to the internet on your PC with IE-8, use another browser if you have one. If you don't have another browser installed on your PC, download Firefox or Google Chrome to a USB thumb-drive from another computer and download one of them to your PC from there.

5) If you've (either, by accident or intentionally) downloaded a third-party browser helper, there may be a software conflict causing IE-8 to hang. To check, go to your Control Panel and select 'Add or Remove Programs'. Look to see if there is a 'third party' browser helper installed. If so, uninstall it.

6) If you're able to get to the Internet at all, go to Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) - download and install it. Click here to download. You may have something on your PC that MSE can help you with.

7) Make sure you have enough RAM in your PC. At the very minimum, Windows XP needs 512Mb of RAM. 1GB is better.

Should be able to go to that link and just download Internet Explorer 8.

With the Android OS, it is common that apps remain open in the background. Applications inclue your Messenger, Browser, Music, etc. (Not just the applications you download from the Market). I advise that you download a Task Manager from the Market. These can be found for free. Also, with Android always updating the OS, it fills a lot of memory on your phone. Installing a small SD card may be helpful for speed.

You may need Java. The first link is for Java. The second link is for Flash Player. You must make sure you don't have any prior versions of either app. If you have Java, Find your Java icon, click on it and click on update tab. When installing Flash player you ahve to be out of all other windows and not signed in to anything that will interfere ie, messenger. If something is stopping you downlaod, a window will come up telling you what it is. You can get out of that app and finish download.

if you are using internet explorer try to reset your IE

please close every window that is open
click start > control panel > Internet Option > advance TAB then click the reset button (for IE 7-8)

if still didnt work

download firefox or chrome browser and check if you can download

Its not a big problem dear ,you can uninstall the ie8 from add or remove programmes in control panel.
Goto control panel ,open add or remove programmes,find out the ie8 ,select and remove it from there.If you unable to find the ie 8 in the list or if therewill be no remove option there then tru wo remove windows service pack3 from the same list.

This fix works for both missing IE7 tabs and missing Desktop icon in Display Properties. Good luck!

Open up a command prompt (cmd.exe from "run") and enter the following;

REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer" /V ClassicShell /T REG_DWORD /F /D 0

This should sort out your problem.
