Try running a test page and see what happens. If only one or two colors print, for example you see magenta but no cyan or yellow, then the cartridge could be clogged. Try aligning the cartridges and/or cleaning them to see if that helps.
If not, the cartridge might be defective, damaged, or out of ink so try a different cartridge. It's possible that the ink dried up if the printer was left on for too long or not used for a long time, and sometimes there are just defective cartridges; this happened to me one time with a color HP cartridge for one of my printers.
Worst case scenario, if nothing is able to print or if the printer is making weird noises, it might be a problem with the headers or another internal component that would have to be fixed.
