My STOVES 720G has developed a problem with the grill. Lights up no problem but after about 5 mins - fan blows & (ignitor?)clicks constantly. I have cleaned the main cooling fan to improve air flow but problem persisted. Then i bridged out the over temperature switch (100C) - but problem still persists. Is there an air pressure sensor in control circuit?

However...I discovered the little buttons on the timer come out completely. So I used a cocktail stick to poke about inside the holes where the buttons go till the Auto mode light disappeared and the cooker went back to manual. And my oven works again as before.
There are two overheat devices in the oven. One feeds the oven timer/programmer for the main oven and the other feeds the grill. If the cooling fan is running ok, then I would suspect it is the cutout feeding the grill elements that has perhaps with age is not working as it should do.
It could be that the overheat thermostat is kicking in, albeit earlier than it should do. Have you checked to see that the oven thermostat is working correctly and is not heating the oven up too much ( does the neon go off and on) and is the oven cooling fan running ok in the background. If these two appear to be ok, then you may need to replace the overheat thermostat.
(The oven cooling fan should remain on for about 5 to 10 mins after either oven or grill has been used. If this isn't happening or it is not running correctly then that is why the overheat device is shutting the oven off). As a thought, are the top oven and grill working ok? if they are, then it narrows it down to either the oven thermostat or the overheat sensor.
On the 720 there are two thermal cut outs. Looking at the wiring diagram, the cooling fan and the clock are the only two items that will run independant of the cut outs. So, is the cooling fan running ok or not? If it is and the grill is cutting out, then it could be the thermal cut out that has aged - or the fan may be running slowly because of age or there is a build up of dirt grease under and around the oven and on the outlets that stop air curculating properly.
If the fan isn't running then you need to replace it or the fan timer PCB may have failed. Once you have gotten into the oven's inards, you can test the fan to see if it runs or not.
