Canon i350 InkJet Printer Logo
Anonymous Posted on Feb 14, 2010

When I click print ,the printer status box says that there is an "operator error" and that i should switch printer off and then on again, this doesn't help. Then a box pops up saying I must install printer heads? Why all of a sudden this problem and how do i fix it?The yellow light that usually indicates that the printer is on is flashing red and yellow now? Please help. Thanks

Hey there. It doesn't seem to be any one of those problems. That red light flashes five times and then it goes yellow again. Is there any other advice you can give?

    Regards

    Kevin

Hi Kevmccree !!
Thank you for writing to the Fixya Forums.
This problem may have several causes:
A) Empty or almost empty ink tank(s)/ink cartridge B) Ink tank is not seated properly C) The printhead nozzles may be clogged D) The printhead may need realignment E) Printing on the wrong side of the media or the incorrect media type is selected in the printer Properties.
This is what it says on the Canon site for your printer:"Printhead alignment in Windows"
http://www.canon.co.uk/Support/System/Search.aspx?TcmUri=tcm:14-517379&Search=Canon%20i350%20Print%20Head%20Alignment&SearchType=3
Alternative Step: Go to Printers in the start menu or control panel, rightclick the appreopriate icon, and click Preferences. Now click Maintenance, and click head alignment.
I hope this solves the problem. Feel free to update me on the status.
Regard's
Anurag-MCP

I replaced the cartridge of my hp psc 1401, copied the test page that was automatically printed, but now I can't print anything. Copying works OK. I don't get an error message or blinking lights on...

what is the status of print job in the queue? whether it is showing printing or no status in the windows.
if the status is printing you delete all the print jobs and switch off and on .then try print something. if no status is there in the windows then you check whether the printer is off line .try make it online by right click on the printer icon then click on the use printer online.

Amber light on oki c3300 continues to flash and printer will not print

Here's what the owner's manual has to say:

Error status (Amber, blinking): you cannot continue to use the
printer. Intervention is required to recover from the error. Fatal
errors are irrecoverable and require a service call.

Blinking 1 (2S cycle)
An error has occurred but
printing can continue if you
press the ON LINE or CANCEL
switch.

Blinking 2 (500mS cycle)
An error has occurred. You
need to replace consumables
or remove jammed paper, for
example. The printer then
recovers from the error and
printing becomes possible
again.

Blinking 3 (120mS cycle)
A serious error has occurred.
rebooting or a service call is
required.

The Status Monitor in Windows provides a readable description
of the printer status corresponding to the indications of the
LEDs. In Mac, the printer driver provides status information
once you have sent a document to print. In Windows, if you
have the Status Monitor Preferences set to Pop up on alerts,
this readable message will be presented on screen whenever
an abnormal condition occurs.

There's no further information. Sorry.

My error light blinks on and off. I stopped my printer in the middle of a printing (I asked for too many copies), and pulled out the last sheet. Turned off printer and computer. Now I have this error...

Maybe you have a finding work to be print. Just check the printer status at the start menu. click the printer and faxes then double click the type of printer that you used. After that, the dialogue box appears then on the top of the box you see the word (Printer) click it and then click Cancel all Document then OK. That process are cancell all the finding document that you print before. If did not remove just switch Off the printer and turned it On again. Try this solution back in back if the finding document was not remove.

I have a Canon MP830 & I can't print or send a fax Error message 300 - I can't turn off the printer - & it says I have 10% in memory. it is also making a clicking noise

Hi there,
Error No. 300 :

Cause 1: The machine is not ready.
Action : Ensure that the lamp on the Operation Panel lights.
If the lamp on the Operation Panel is off, turn the machine on.
While [COPY] is flashing, the machine is initializing. Wait until [COPY] stops flashing and stays lit.
When the Alarm Lamp lights orange, an error may occur in the machine.

Cause 2 : Machine is not proper connected.
Action : Ensure that the printer cable is securely connected to the computer/
* If using a switching hub or other devices, disconnect the machine and reconnect it directly to the computer and try printing again. If successful, the problem may have been with the device.
* There could also be a problem with the cable(s). Replace the cable and try printing again.

Cause 3 : The name of the machine being used is not selected in the [Printer] pull down menu of the [Print]dialog box.
Action : Select [MP830] from the [Printer] pop-up menu in the [Print] dialog box of the printer driver.
If the [MP830] is not displayed in the printer list, follow the procedure below to confirm the settings.
1) Select [ Print abd Fax Preferences] from the [Printer] pop-up menu.
2) Check that [MP830] is displayed in the screen that is displayed and select the [InMenu] checkbox.
3) If [MP830] is not displyed, click [+] to add a printer.
If [MP830] is not displayed, install the MP Drivers again referring to the Easy Setup Instructions for the operations.

Hope this helps. Please rate my response.
Thanks.
Have a good day.

Status Monitor isn't hihglighted so I can't check

This can only be done by getting a new status monitor software . Follow my instructions:- STEP 1 - Install the Epson StatusMonitor software. This program comes on the CD included with the printer. It can also be downloaded from the Epson Web site ( http://download.cnet.com/Epson-Status-Monitor-2/3000-2116_4-10024738.html ).
STEP 2 - Open the Epson StatusMonitor program in any application (such as wordprocessingmag-glass_10x10.gif, spreadsheets or Web browsers) that allows you to print. Click on the "File" menu tab in the control bar of the application.
STEP 3 - Select print or page setup from the "File" menu. A dialog box will open. In that box, click on the "StatusMonitor" icon, which will open the "Epson StatusMonitor" dialog box. Also, you can click on the "Utility" icon and then the "Epson StatusMonitor" button from the "Utility" dialog box.
STEP 4 - Click on the "Update" button to update the display (if you do not think these levels are accurate) when the "Epson StatusMonitor" dialog box displays the relative ink levels for each cartridge in the printer.
STEP 5 - Go back to the "Print" dialog box to change the way that the StatusMonitor utility monitors your printer and ink levels. Click on the "Utility" button again.
STEP 6 - Click on the "Configuration" button in the "Utility" dialog box. The open "Configuration" dialog box will let you adjust settings such as ink level warnings and ink level monitoring before each printing.
