I have an electric whirlpool with start switch not working

I have an electric whirlpool dryer and every thing seems ok. The light comes on when open door and the the timer works when you set. When you push start button, you can hear and feel the buzz in the know like it is trying to start but nothing happens. What can I do to fix this problem?

It sounds like a motor or drive belt problem. Please specify the model number for proper disassembly and troubleshooting guide.

Dryer won't start. Lights on panel come on and everything seems ok until you hold the start button. You then hear a click and the sensing light comes on but the dryer does not start.

Hit start button but dryer will not start can hear the timer running

Open the dryer door and press the door switch , to make sure you hear a distinct " click " . If the door switch seems ok , then remove the rear dryer panel ( UNPLUG DRYER FIRST ) . On the blower housing , you will see a white 1" long piece ( thermal fuse ) with 2 wires plugged onto it . This is the piece you need to replace . #3392519 is the Whirlpool part number .

Dryer will not start

Go to the breaker panel and make sure the neutral is making good contact. Especially check for corrosion. If it is good there, look for other connections between breaker panel and dryer. It seem to me you have a bad neutral somewhere.

Clean Lint Filter Light Keeps Dryer from starting

Evidently the fuse blew for some reason.
Keep the dryer unplugged from power for one hour or so. If it still does start, you will have to take apart the dryer, check the fuse, check the thermal fuse, and test the wirings inside.
If you need to call arepairman use the number listed on the owner manual.

WHIRLPOOL DUET DRYER

I had the same problem. I found out that the door switch (switch that is pushed in by the door when it closes to tell the machine that it can switch on ) had blown. It costs about $16 for a new one. You have to open up the casing but then you just unplug the old one and plug the new one right in. My light still doesn't work but I never really saw the point of it anyway.
