It's interpreting long pauses as silence and is automatically stopping. I can't find any documentation on it but I know with my Pioneer extended silence will eventually stop the recording.

DURNING FINALIZE MODE IT STOPPED WITH1:30 LEFT--- THEN I TURNED IT OFF AND TRIED AGAIN TO FINALIZE AND IT CAME UP WITH A READING OF---REPAIR--

That's a normal response to an interrupted Finalization.

The recorder was switched off/unplugged after recording without ejecting the disc. The recorder could not write essential recording information onto the disc.

While REPAIR is displayed, the recorder automatically examines the recorded area of the disc and updates the track numbers and recording time data. This process takes about 40 minutes for a fully recorded disc. Finalization or further recording is possible once the REPAIR message disappears.

Have had the same issue with a single handset. Finally located our manual:
1. Press and hold MEMO (FAST FORWARD) button until you hear a beep.
2. Record your memo, speaking from approx 15cm away.
3. As soon as you have finished speaking, press ON-OFF/STOP button to stop recording.
Hope this helps :)

My JVC DR-MV7 will not accept any disc for playback. I insert a movie disc and it consistently rejects them. After about 15 to 20 attempts, sometimes it will stay and begin reading the disc. It also sounds like some internal components are encountering some resistance (moving parts inside?). Any ideas?

If you're lucky, just turn your recorder off by unplugging for a few minutes with the disc out, turn it on and insert disc and it might read otherwise your computer dvd-rom/burner might be able to read it with the proper ripping software.

Recordes but dont play back

before you can watch a recorded DVD on another DVD player you must finalize the disc. to finalize the disc put the recorded disc into the DVD recorder, when the DVD loads it will show the titles that are recorded on the DVD on the screen
push the stop button it is the button with the square on it. the screen will go blank or it may let you watch whatever tv channel you are on if you have your tv ran through the recorder, push the setup buton a new screen will come up, with the arrow down button scroll down and highlight disc edit, press ok another screen will come up, with the arrow down button scroll down and highlight "finalize", press "ok" it is the button in the middle of the arrow keys
scroll up and highlight "yes" press "ok" the recorder will finalize the disc and it can be watched on any DVD player, just remember when you finalize a disc you cannot add anything else to the disc.

Can i record from tv to dvd

yes
make sure the cables are connected correctly, the manual will show that.
If the mwr20v6 has a tuner you must have the channel on the dvd set to the program, if it has no tuner, you must have your tv set to the correct channel.

Recording Errors

Hi. I did a google search to see how to fix mine. It's doing the same exact thing. I wonder if the CD's are the problem. I hadnt'had problems in the past, but I'm thinking maybe the companies are making their cds's a little different with the speed. I use the audio cdr's but I have had this problem.
