Some DVD's are in letterbox format--it will be indicated on the package that it came with. I doubt it is the set--got another player you can try to see if same issue or not?

Absolute rubbish!! The idle speed should be between 1250 and 1350 rpm. If the engine is cold, the EFi will raise the idle speed temporarily to about 1600 rpm until it warms up (usually within 5 to 10 minutes at a standstill).

Your idle speed of 1120 to 1200 rpm is absolutely fine. However, if it drops any lower, you can raise the rpm by playing with the idle speed adjuster screw located on the gear-side under the fuel tank (can be seen without having to remove the fuel tank). Turn clockwise to increase rpm. You will find details on how to do this by selecting your manual from this link:

WARNING: if the idle rpm continues to drop, you may have a more serious issue with the valve clearances, air-filter, or spark plugs. Consult a technical book (such as Haynes), or take it to your local Yamaha dealer to get it serviced.

In your control panel you can select system properties and then device manager.
If the webcam had a yellow ! then you will need to install or update the drivers. Drivers can be found under the support section at the manufactures website.

(easy way to system properties is windows key + break key)

Check Olympus website to see if it is compatible with vista.
Can't understand why you would want to change to Vista, more than anything it's a downgrade, it's absolutely rubbish at the minute. I would wait untill MS fix it properly.

Try re-installing the driver software. Ensure that all the electrical contacts on the camera, cables and dock are clean and free from obstruction. If all else fails, USB card readers are cheap, and handy for other things. This is what I use.

First of all, you should know that when someone advises you to buy more stuff because of a problem you have, it's very possible they're ripping you off! It's a disgrace that they took advantage of you and sold you all that stuff..

Now, to your problem..

First of all, are you absolutely sure that the camera autofocuses properly? That would be the first thing to check. To make sure, turn the focus selector (on the lens) from auto to manual, try to focus manually (it doesn't matter if it's not 100% accurate) and press the button.

If that's not the case, try other modes. Try the camera in (M)anual mode, for instance. Also, just in case, try to clean (with a dry fabric) the battery contacts and also the battery contacts of the camera.

"System error" always needs to be sent into repairs. Give them a call and see what they can do for you. 800-706-2534 and then keep choosing option 1.
