If you're picking up background (room) sounds the TT pickup is acting as a microphone. Isolate it physically from air- and room-borne vibrations. Turn your speakers down so they don't add to the problem, or use headphones while recording.

Testimonial: "Thanks! I also realized I have a built-in mic on my computer which I had to turn off."

I Purchased behringer c1 u microphone and I want to record my singing with karoke..Problem is that when I connect laptop with speakers my singing volume is coming louder but sound of background music is...

You need a mixer. Connect the microphone to the mixer and also the background music. That way you have separate control of volume for the voice and the music.
The background noise can come from different sources. One of them is from the laptop itself, if the laptop is noisy to begin with.

Not all of the sound/music is being transferred from the LP.Hard to explain, but its when the LP has sound coming out of each speaker independent of one another, only one side is coming out on the recorded...

I know this is an old post, an I dont' have a solution yet, but t seems the same problem as on my Ion USB recorder - One of the input channels is not working. Like you, I found one of my music tracks not plying right - there was only the instrumental and no vocal. When I experimented, and changed round the jacks on the cable coming from the turntable (red and white plugs), I then got only vocals and no instrumental. Obviously one of the input sockets on the USB recorder is no longer working (I already checked the turntable and cable itself by playing back he same track with both stereo channels through my amplifier). You can either get the item replaced if its still under guarantee, or fix it yourself, if you have the necessary skills, neither of which apply to me.

Static noise when playing back recording, sounds like the wind

This camera has a single Mic - make sure your finger isn't over it though -- try making a recording in a closed room - no wind noise - is there still static ??
Go through settings and see what choices there are -- like outdoor , indoor . close to subject etc.
My CAM had a close up and background button - which was a sensitivity setting - and the background setting picked up EVERY sound from miles around and filled the tape with noise. The close up setting only picked up sound from bout 2 - 3 meters.
Do you also have an external plug for a Mic ? this would also check whether it's the camera mic or recording that is at fault ??

Ambient sound is louder than the music

Hi,
I have a Mac (OS X 10.5.7) and had the same problem with the Ion TTUSB system picking up room noise. This seemed to fix it:
In System Preference, under Hardware, choose "Sound".
Choose "Input".
Under "Choose a device for sound input" choose USB Audio CODEC  type: USB

I hope this helps,
Cheers!

Background sound too loud

Check the audio settings. You might need to reduce the surround sound effect or increase the Center (dialogue)

Playback sound

Unit might be picking up 60 cycle hum or other electromagnetic field. Is VCR sitting on/under another piece of electronic equipment? If so, it could pick up such from the power supply circuitry of that other device. Try moving the VCR away from other equipment and see if the unwanted sound disappears.
