Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet
Most of the times a laptop would fail to hibernate due to an OS Driver Management Issue.
Even after doing Lot of Homework on setting up the Hibernation settings, if your laptop is not hibernating, Check for the Posibility of having a new device attached to one of the ports or a new application installed.
Usually when a hibernation process starts the Kernal would enforce the App Manager and the HAL to communicate with the backend process and the Driver programs to close down the operation and write back the system state logs to the hiberfil.sys.
The Applications and Driver programs running on a windows system should abide to the WDDM Framework. (Windows Device Driver Model). A device driver which is running on a windows system if not written to follow the WDDM Framework shall refrain from closing the ports and getting to the hibernation status due to which the kernal will not be able to close the programs and return to hibernation mode and this keeps the system running live.
So check for any such new applications running on your Windows system and also check for any Wireless device like (Mouse or Keyboard) which is not Windows Compatable and running on the system.
Hope this solves the issue. (Good Luck).
