Hi there what I found is this
Definition: spool file: n. Any file to which data is spooled to await the next stage of processing. Especially used in circumstances where spooling the data copes with a mismatch between speeds in two devices or pieces of software. For example, when you send mail under Unix, it's typically copied to a spool file to await a transport demon's attentions. This is borderline techspeak. From Jargon Dictionary

Also I think you should go this Link I gave you to read more.

HP 1500 will not stop Printing

Printer of all types connet to a computer and make use of a spooling service on the computer. You may need to go into the Printers and Faxes section of the computer from the Start button and open up the printer you are using and right click on all the documents that are listed there and click on cancel. There is a relationship between printer and computer with handshaking so you need to cancel and let the printer be connected to cancel the jobs. Pull out the paper tray might be a way to have it stop printing while to cancel the jobs. The cancel or clear on the printer only affect the jobs held in the memory on the printer and then as soon as that is clear the next job from the spool comes in. Clear printer spooling and then the printer should stop.

Won't recognize tray 3

If you recently had to printer off of tray 3 there is a possiblity that the connector broke when putting the printer back on. You say not recognized, is that through the printer driver? Print the configuration page for the printer and see is it shows a tray 3, or go to the diagnostics menu on the control panel of the printer and then go to paper path test. Under the "source" see what options it offers. If tray 3 shows here then it is likely just your print driver.

Print error on print report and am using win 7 and usb virtual port 1 What is the connection problem as the demo prtout on the printer works ok

Main causse of printer failer is printing interruption and corrupted files for driver.

Solution 1. Check for the device manager to see some error in hardwares especially the usb port. If there is reinstall the missing driver because maybe it is corrupted.

Solution 2. Most printer error can be resolve by uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software.

Solution 3. Maybe the is confusion on the buffer and he does not recognized the printing files. Try no to print usual character that will make printer to confuse. To solve this:

Go to START MENU
Choose RUN
Type the letter "cmd"
Type the word "net stop spooler"
Exit
Go to C drive
Choose to Windows Folder
Click show content
Choose system32 folder
Choose spool folder
Choose printer
And delete all printing jobs pending
Again go back to CMD window and type the word "net start spooler"

Even since we install the edimax server, the printer will just halt and we have to reset the spooler again

Setting the location of the spool folder By default the spool folder is located at systemroot\System32\Spool\Printers. However, this drive also holds the Windows system files. Because these files are frequently accessed by the operating system, performance of both Windows and the printing functions might be slowed.
If your print server serves only one or two printers with low traffic volumes, the default location of the spool folder is sufficient. However, for high-volume printing requirements, to support large numbers of printers, or to support large print jobs, you should relocate the spool folder. For best results, move the spool folder to a drive that has its own controller, which reduces printing's impact on the rest of the operating system.
For information on relocating the print server spool folder, see Change the spool folder location.

To set up a printer to print to multiple devices
  1. Open Printers and Faxes.

  2. Right-click the printer you are using, and then click Properties.

  3. On the Ports tab, select the Enable printer pooling check box.

  4. Click each port where the printers you want to pool are connected.
Notes
  • To open Printers and Faxes, click Start, and then click Printers and Faxes.

  • With printer pooling, the printers must be the same type of printer using the same printer driver.

  • The previous procedure assumes the printers you want to pool are already in the Printers and Faxes folder.
  • Check for print jobs in que, this can cause the printer to spool if a print job is in que.

My HP Deskjet F380 has the latest printing software installed; it spools and is attached to my laptop in the correct USB port; but it doesn't print. The message is "no connection." It printed...

Verify that the USB connection is fully inserted in the back of the printer itself. If all is well there, try to think if you've run any updates on your laptop recently, or installed any new software that could be conflicting. If yes, try removing the new software or recent updates, and try a test print. If this still does not work, try disconnecting the printer, powering down your machine, starting it back up and then reconnecting the printer to the USB port. Sometimes you have have a glitch in the USB port that causes your computer to stop recognizing a device seemingly out of nowhere. If none of the above seems to help, it might be as simple as a USB cable that's become faulty. Hope this helps!

Downloaded driver from HP. connected printer via

HP Support says “If the Ready light is blinking, and the Go light is on, it indicates Data in the printer memory is waiting to be printed. Pressing the GO button prints from Tray 1 or from another tray if Tray 1 is empty and the paper size is supported in the other Tray. Pressing the JOB CANCEL button cancels the current job and the printer returns to ready.
Make sure the paper size is correctly defined.

Failed response from plugin device

Dirty fix...
When the printer errors out...stop, unplug the power to the printserver. Reset the printer, Clear the print que (delete jobs/restart print spooling service), restart the printserver software and plug the printserver power back in. Wait for the re-detect. Everthing should be good at this point. Unfortunatly the print job will be lost and you need to print again...BUT, NO REBOOT yea!!!
Note... for me, if this sequence is not followed, I will have to reboot. The printserver will be locked for the PC that was trying to print. All other PC's will be fine, and I have no idea why.
Good luck,
Bill

Printer won't print

If you are unable to delete the print jobs from the queue then please unplug the usb cable from the printer or the computer abd restart the computer. Once the computer is restarted try connecting the usb cable and check whether the jobs has been deleted and shows 0 ready.

Next, you may have to change the communication format called the "Spool format."
Please follow the steps given below to change the spool data format:
1. Click on "Start," "Control Panel," "Hardware and Sound" and "Printers."
2. Then, right click on the Lexmark printer icon and left click "Properties."
3. Either on the "Advanced" tab or the "General" tab for some models, there is a "Print Processor" button, left click it.
4. This is the spool format setting. Under "Print processor" it should be set to "Lexmark 5300 series print processor." Next, under "Default datatype," select "NT EMF 1.008."
5. Click "OK" and exit back out to your desktop.
6. Please try printing again.
If this does not help the situation, please describe any differences it does make.

My last print job gets stuck deleting in the queue!

Go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS on your PC and you will see two files listed fior each of the outstanding print jobs. These will have the file extensions .SHD and .SPL

You need to delete both of these files then power off and power on your printer to be able to continue printing.
