GE Profile side by side refridgerator with loose handle: After trying to slide my loose handle cap up and down with no success, I snuck a peek and located a plastic tab connecting it to the fridge. Using a plastic spatula, I slid in between the fridge and the handle to apply pressure against the tab from the sides and from the top. My model's tab released from firm, downward pressure. I repeated for the 2nd lower tab. Only then, could I slide this cover up and off the handle to expose the screw that needed tightening.

The bolt on the handle tightens on a pin that comes through the door. If the tightening the screw on the handle and it still does not tighten then the pin has come loose inside the door. If the unit is only 3 months old I suggest contacting who you bought it from. It should be under warranty.
Ther is nothong wrong with the ice Dispensing unit the screws in the door handle are loose and we can not figure how to tighten them.
the model# is GS5SHAXNQ00
The door handles mount on hex bolts sticking out of the door, the door handles have key hole inserts that match with the bolts. The door handles are then slid in one direction to lock the handles in place. Removal is the reverse. To tighten the door handle screw the bolt out enough that you can still put the handle over the bolt heads and slide the handle to lock the handle in place.
There was a plastic card the size of a credit card that came with the refigerator that helps release the handles. If you don have this you can use any stiff plastic card ie: blockbuster card, store card etc...
Pull the handle away from you while inserting the card in the top or bottom of the handle based on your model. I believe the Admiral model LSD2615HEB required the card be inserted 11/16 of an inch. This should release the handle. Once released there are 4 hex screws located on the handle that may require tightening.
To reinstall: Match the hardware up just above the final location and then slide down, this should lock the handle back into place.
i have a whirlpool conquest side by side and had loose handles, couldn't figure out.but then i grabbed handle and push in and up,handles slide off you can then tighten bolts then slide it back on.hope this helps.n
I had the same problem. It took me an hour to figure out that the bottom freezer handles clips onto the door using butterfly clips. To tighten the clips you have to remove the handle by sliding it to the right (or left??) It snaps right out with a quick **** exposing the clips underneath. A quick tightening of the clips and the handle snaps back in.
It worked! Thank you very much!
