Flexible hose under sink leaks at natural bend; can it alone be replaced ?

Hi, I had same problem with my Samsung dishwasher. Myine would start flashing about 45 seconds after the cycle started. Check under the sink for flexible hose that runs from the bottom of the dishwasher to the sink drain (mine actually runs into the disposal). Be sure there are no severe " kinks" or bends in the hose or anything that might impede the water flow. I straightened my hose as much as possible and "jiggled" it a bit and it began working ok. I haad the same problem again a few months later and jiggled/shook again and works ok since. There could be a partial blockage from food debris, etc. in the hose. Good luck.

turn off the hot and cold water supply, place a container under the sink where the hose meets the Sink mixer.
release the pressure from the tap by opening the tap to let the water out.
use a suitable tool to undo the flexible hose from the underside of the tap, there should be a small "O" ring on it which you will have to replace as the "O" ring is possibly the cause of the leak.

This problem can normally be fixed very simply and you can do it yourself.
1. There is a flexible drain line that goes from dishwasher to the sink drain line or garbage disposer.
2 You will find this flexible drain underneath the kitchen sink.
3. Make sure that the flexible dishwasher drain line goes up above the sinks lower portion of the sink basin and then comes back down into the sinks drain line or grabage disposer. The dishwasher flexible drain line must go above the bottom of sink basin like an upside down u shape, it will act as a upside down p-trap that you see under the sink in the sink drainline.
4. Once you have the flexible dishwasher drain line in this configuration (upside down U shape or p-trap) it will prevent air from leaking out of the dishwasher as the smell you are smelling is coming from the drian line.
5. You should also look inside the bottom of dishwasherr to make sure the drain screen is not clogged up.

The drain usually connects with a flexible plastic hose to the garbage disposal under your kitchen sink. Run the disposal for a minute to see if that unclogs anything.

Remove the hose and blow into it (use a straw and try to make a seal between hose and straw with your hand because old drain pipes taste really bad if you kiss them directly).

Otherwise, your pump may have gond bad - dishwashers do not drain on gravity alone. they all use pumps. Yours may not be worth replacing unless you are really handy and can do it yourself.

Pumps are available and located on the bottom of the unit. Disconnect drain hose. Disconnect circuit breaker. Remove panel by toe-kick and disconnect electical hard-wired connection. Disconnect water (under kitchen sink). Pull it out from under the counter. Order new pump, install and replace. Be careful with the electricity.

You can help to isolate the problem by checking the flow through the angle stops under the sink. Best way to do this is to first have flexible hoses, most likely 3/8" by 1/2". These flexible hoses can easily replace rigid piping from the angle stops to the sink. Turn the angle stops off, then unscrew the hoses/piping from the under the faucet. Aim hose into bucket and turn angle stop back on. If flow is still strong, then replace faucet. If flow is weak, call a plumber.

order a hose part number ssd6 with a hose clamp from 877-262-1479 tell them it is a universal hose in the armstrong catalog and ask a freind to change it for you, you cut off the end to fit the connecter on your washer. then if still haveing to tie down use large tie wraps you can find at your local hardware store and if you cant find the hose i offered check your hardware store for a hose also.
