My cyan color won't print. All the other four colors print fine. I've done all the cleaning and deep cleaning. I even replaced the print head with a new one and installed a brand new cyan ink cartridge. Nothing has worked. Please help.
Soaking the print head in non-detergent ammonia works very well. It breaks up the dried ink clots perfectly. (Soaking in alcohol does not work nearly as well.) Be sure the head is completely dry before putting it back in the machine.

I have fixed the problem with my MP830 not printing black. It was the print head. I took the print head out and noticed that the black was clogged.
Apparently as the print head uses such fine jets to get the quality levels up, it seems to be quite common for the print head to become clogged.
There are many ways of unclogging the print head, allot of people I read about used alcohol type liquids to clean with, but I was able to get mine unclogged using warm water, a syringe and some good quality paper towel.
Its a tedious process, but you have to unclog all the dried out ink out of the print head. Some people suggested soaking the print head over-night in water or alcohol, but I was too impatient for this method.
There are two small screws which I undid, this allows the print head to come apart and give you better access to clean. using warm water in a syringe(large needle and body-the type used for re-filling cartridges) squirt water into the offending color hole. you should be able to see all the dried ink comming out.
The paper towel is used to bleed the water and ink through the printhead slots.
If anyone is interested in the method which worked for me, feel free to drop me an email and I can offer some more details, maybe would be easier with a few pics too.
I am outta time, kind of hard to explain in a few paragraphs.
My printer was 2 weeks out of warranty when I did this, there was no way I was going to pay a cent more for a new print head thats for sure.
Use this method at your own risk.
forgot the email addy...hehe.....its [email protected]

Similar Problem here to, only it is the Pigmented Black that mine will not print, I have done multiple cleans and deep cleans but still no luck
Any help would be appreciated.
P.s there is plenty of ink in the cartridge.
All other colours are fine.
Help. My Magenta Ink won't print. It worked okay the other day, and then yesterday it went caput. Even though it was a relatively new cartridge, I bought a new one and installed that one, but still no Magenta.
Mine won't print magenta. 3 days ago, all printed jsut fine, now all prints come out greenish due to no magenta.
I have same identical problem. All of a sudden cyan won't print at all. Same problem with a new replacement cartridge. Tried a second new cartridge with same results. Cleaning, deep cleaning, etc. does not seem to have any effect.
I'm the same, it's with the cyan. Clean, deep clean, everything. Changed carts several times, it's just like something is blocked as all the other seem fine.
Exactly the same! Plenty of ink in the cyan cartridge, but it says "U150 The Following Ink tank cannot be recognized." Just happened out of the blue (haha - no pun intended). So far all I've done is take out the cartridge and put it back in. My hubby said the same thing happened to him a couple days ago, and doing that fixed the problem for him, but it's not working anymore. Any ideas?
My cyan has the same problem and the manual does not say anything about how to fix the problem... Right now I'm trying to unplug and reset the printer somehow.
Mine was the same. Canon sent me 3 different refurb. printers. For the last one, they sent it with a new print head and ink tanks in it and fully tested prior to sending it to me. IT took that to finally fix the problem. Now, everything works fine. It was definitely a pain. They said they don't know how that could happen but they must have heard more about it now since it seems more common.
Printer printing just fine and the next minute a message designated U150 comes up saying that the computer does not recognize one of the ink colors.(Cyan C-8). The ink tank is half full.
I have the same problem, cyan does not print, and then when I do deep cleaning, the bottom black line also goes blank. What is going on ?
After a year (almost) of perfect printing, I installed replacement color cartriges. Two days afterwards, my Canon PIXMA MP810 refuses to recognise the cyan ink. Removing and replacing it, and all the cartriges, several times, gives the same result.
What can I try next?
#@&$^%* Same problem
Same problem. Cyan doen't print at all (everything else is working fine). Have removed and replaced, unplugged and replugged three times without success.
I have the exact same problem with my black. I done all the cleaning and realignment and still no black printing. Odd thing is when I do a test sheet it prints on the test sheet.
