Most external bluetooth GPS units uses serial ports to communicate to the GPS software. You don't need to bother with the External GPS thingy in the setting page. If u really ask, u need to pair using BT to the GPS unit. Under bluetooth setting, u can create and outgoing port as well. On your GPS software, point it to look at that port number.

Gps wont work but fishfinder works fine

This model has two versions, one with the GPS as an external piece, and one with the GPS mounted internally. If the location of the internal mounted GPS cannot get a clear shot at the satellites overhead, it will tell you it cannot get a GPS fix. If it says it is disconnected, you may have a problem with the internal GPS. There are external GPS pucks available for this unit. Here is a helpful website.

Is there an external antennae for the lms 527 combo available

  • No it does not. Lawrance often makes either external or internal GPS units. This is an internal antenna unit only model. Hope this helps.

How to pair a iPAQ 214 with an external GPS receiver?

It's pretty easy.
In your iPAQ 214 go on SETTINGS > GPS > and make sure the INCOMING CONNECTIONS are on CHANNEL 6, and for the OUTGOING CONNECTIONS are on CHANNEL 5.
Start the external GPS device, start your Bluetooth connection on your iPAQ and you're ready to go.

Navagon 5100

Hello 1234567i,

Most GPS receivers are not designed to be used for tracking. The GPS receives signals from Global Positioning Satellites and then uses those signals to calculate its current location, which it displays on the screen. However that data is not normally sent anywhere externally so there is no way for a remote user to determine where the GPS is.. Thus you cannot use a computer or any other device to track the GPS.

The Navigon 5100 appears to be no exception.

Without pairing the GPS with an external communications device (cell phone, two-way radio, laptop with a WiFi connection, etc.) the GPS lacks the ability to transmit its location reports to any external source. There certainly are ways that a GPS can be used with an external communications device as a tracker, but most GPS receivers do not have this capability out of the box.

Best Regards,
Ken

Car Power Unit

I'm not sure that there is a car charger available for the GPS 310. There is no external port where you could plug it in, the only thing you can do for power is take extra AA batteries with you.

My garmin gps 350 keeps losing satelite. Can you tell me how to fix it? Thank you!!!

GPS requires line-of-sight and generally uncovered skyline. It won't work so well in forests or in between highrises and such.

However, there are a few things you can do to help get better signal.
  1. Move the GPS closer to the windshield.
  2. If you have an external antenna (one that can be moved without moving the unit), move it closer to the windshield, or if it is magnetic, put it on the top of your roof.
  3. If your GPS model has the option for an external antenna but you do not already have it, you may want to consider getting the external antenna. It'll let you position the antenna somewhere better without having to put the GPS unit itself in an awkward or inconvenient position.
