I have a yamaha RX-V800 and it cant turn on,I sent it to the dealers and they told me that they cant fix it because the parts are discontinued,i really need to fix it,I just need a schematic diagram,Please help me.
3 years old, just out of warranty, relay clicks when turned on, no display, no sound. Have tried unhooking all wires to be sure its not a speaker short, so just the unit by itself, same problem.

You can get schematics from Yamaha.....last I checked they were $10 canadian each.....define "cant turn on"....is it stone dead?....does it turn on and turn off right away?.....be descriptive !!!........Good luck....Rob
PS....I have repaired MANY yamaha's, usually it is a blown channel and it is Definitely NOT for the novice Do-it-yourselfer. The '800 is a very nice unit.......RYou can get schematics from Yamaha.....last I checked they were $10 canadian each.....define "cant turn on"....is it stone dead?....does it turn on and turn off right away?.....be descriptive !!!........Good luck....Rob

Go to yamaha service direct they should have the parts. impossible for this model to be phased out. this is a model about 6 years ago only. they still have the parts for that. Power output and driver transistors are industry standard, replaceable too byt other newer model. you just need to find a real good techie for yamaha... i mean yamaha expert
Give me more details of trouble... let me give you advise if it can be done. 800 does not have industry standard parts mostly by yamaha only or made to order by yamaha. I have the same unit before, i have the manual too.
i use to work with yamaha service saudi arabia 6 years

What if you DON'T use the remote? Does it shut down when just using it?
If SO, you have a bigger problem.
If NOT, it sounds like the remote is hosed - sending a code to shut off.
Do you have another remote of any brand that you could set to do something simple, like change volume? Don't train it from the original, though, or it would do the same thing.

Test an audio source like "DVD" connected to the "Direct" input with left, center, right, rear, andsub input. put the receiver in "Direct mode" if you get audio, the main DSP chip is bad, get an estimate first since it can only be verified by bench testing the unit. It's not a cheap repair 400-500 range. Most new Yamaha receiver's in the modest range run 500-800- new. Hope this helps
The RX-V800 switches the various video signal types separately. Since you are feeding S-Video to the TV the composite (yellow) input from your Wii is not going anywhere. If you cant get S-Video output from the Wii then I'd suggest a simple Composite to S-video adaptor plug ($5 say). It worked for me with a Game Cube. Cheers BJ
(I have the RX-V659). Because the Yamaha remote has TWO SEPARATE buttons - power ON and power OFF (standby). This problem can't be fixed. There's a code to choose power ON and another code for power OFF. But one button can't be two buttons. Bad engineering\ design by Yamaha in my opinion
email me .... [email protected]... ill send
you a copy of the codebook page... but let me try and locate it first, i have the same unit before. Yamaha code books are the same also to other models.
it can be accessed via the main unit controls but you need to go through your manuals. Maybe you can get your remote repaired still... maybe not badly damaged caused by corrosion.
Hi,
You should try to see, on main board, the ground G2(TP00385), just to make sure if the screw is too tight. Its location on Schematic Diagram (Main) is E8.
All the best,
