As you have mentioned that there is no problem with your phone battery & charger. I doubt that the power button of your phone is damaged. Please go to your nearest sony ericsson service center.
Sound inducers do go bad. Normal the same audio amplifier is used for both the ear piece and the speaker. Since the speak does work, it sounds like the ear piece has died.
I am using sony ericcson w700i mobile. It had great sound. A few days back the music while the sound of the music is not the same as it was previously. I am not interested to take it to the service centre. Is there any free software to download and solve this problem.
Have you tried to turn on the call volume? On the right side of the phone you will see two buttons, up and down.
Try making a call. Then, while on the call and before you hang-up, press the button on the right side of your phone, the one with the arrow pointing up. You will see a volume indicator on the screen. If you press the up button again and again the volume will go up until it reaches a satisfactory level.. Perhaps your volume is set to very low.
