Picture taken is so bright and with trasparent horizontal line
Recently my casio ex-s600 experience this problem wherein when the picture is taken outdoor, the picture is very bright, and there are transparent horizontal line all over the picture. I've tried to adjust the best shot selection, the white balance,ISO,Sharpness etc, nothing work.I bought it last april 2006, and the trouble just started last christmas 2007.
Re: picture taken is so bright and with trasparent...
If the photo shoot out show white , the obscure (quality
variation), and even horizontal line ( white lines), and so on over-exposure
cases, even if the use of anti-tremor, set to default values are invalid,
because the camera shutter fault.
I have the same problem with my casio ex-z1050. I am looking also for the nearest repair shop in makati...I have the same problem with my casio ex-z1050. I am looking also for the nearest repair shop in makati...

This issue is caused by either a defective CCD or main-board one or the other needs to be replaced. You can go to www.digitalcamrepair.com if you need further assistance.

i have the same exact problem with mine. it's two and a half years old as well. i also noticed that if you try taking pictures in any of the best shot modes the pictures come out looking like paintings.
It is the shutter (or at least it was for me) I found a simple test here: http://www.mydc.com.tw/repair/knowledge_en/casio-exilim-ex-s600-overexposure-t17.html I repaired it myself, but it took me a whole afternoon and lots of patience. The hard part is taking the camera apart, once I got to the shutter I just activated it manually so to dislodge any pieces that might have gotten jammed, then placed it back together again and it worked! :). It's really hard to take apart, it's like a puzzle sometimes, to find which screws are keeping it together. I also had a bit of hard time when it came to put the zoom back together again. But I guess it beats throwing the camera away. I'm still puzzled on how the CCD works so that an overexposure would make horizontal overexposed lines, but everything points to that. Fixed shutter, lines be gone.
I think we have the same problem with the Exlim s600 model, if the camera take picture outdoor, the picture is almost white, with horizontal line. I have taken it to the repair center at Compex, Quezon Ave., They say the problem is in the camera CCD lense. which cost P7,500 to fix. A new one Casio 8.1 meg pixel, cost just about P8 to 9T. I bought mine March 2006, Use it for only about 35 times. got a feeling these camera were made to be broken just about after the warranty expire.

The shutter is stuck. The electronic "noise" created by the solenoid trying to move the shutter blades causes the lines on your pictures. The bright outdoor pictures is due to the fact that the shutter is jammed open.
You can try tapping the camera on the sides and bottom. This may jar the baldes loose. Failing that, you will have to find a shop that can obtain a replacement lens assembly for your camera.
same here man,, too bright pics with those horizontal lines...
what do i do huh?
