Washer wont agitate

Washer will fill but stops wont agitate.It will rinse @ spin whe I turn the dial.I have heard if washer spins all right ,then it cannot be the lid switch. Is this true.

The lid switch is fine. The timer needs to be replaced.

If it will not spin/drain/advance timer or make any noise when you set it to do these options your problem is the lid switch. Your washer thinks the lid is up so it wont run as a saftey measure. You can order and install this item and its pretty easy and very common.

Washer only works by manually advancing the dial.

yes this sounds like a timer it sounds like it is getting stuck in the cycle. replace the timer and this will clear up the problem

Check out your outlet filter, probable it is clogged. Clean this out and refit. Most cases when the drain or spin does not work, it is the filter. This is a suggestion.
