This may be caused by a leak your dishwasher as a build in anti flood switch which stops water from entering when it leaks into the base of dishwasher . You may be able to check this for yourself by unplugging your dishwasher and slowly pulling it out and lean it back if water runs on to your floor you have had a leak .if at this point you turn it back on it might start to fill again .if it does start to fill turn it off again . it will need further examination to see why it leaking .if you feel you can't do this call your local engineer .

Dishwasher repair

If this is the first and forth LEDs then i was told by a Hotpoint engineer that this means 'heater cut out due to overheat' and that probably the heater is just covered in limescale. If that is the case then running a descaler through the dishwaer on the highest setting should fix the problem and clean the inside of your machine to boot !
I guess this would happen if your machine is a few years old and you live in a hard water area.

Remove large black hose on bottom of drum.
Remove and clean filter inside hose.

I have an initial fill problem with a Hotpoint Aquarius Washing M

You can attempt to reset the water level, but it sounds like that system is malfunctioning and going to require service.

Waiting for the part to arrive approx £40 looks quite straight forward if you are a bit handy with tools
