If no one answers on that model TV (so many models), see following: All the digital TV's have a "search channels" function from a menu button either on remote or on front of TV. See if menu has something like "Setup" and "Auto Tuning" (or words like that) which indicates a digital TV, if no channel search likely analog TV. Once clicking to search for channels (arrow buttons to get there and enter button to start, or some other buttons I saw once did that), it scans the airwaves starting with Ch2 and ending with ch 78 or so. Takes about 30 seconds for it to find channels with antenna connected. Antenna can be old UHF antenna. Search completed, the TV can show the channels in normal channel viewing. If not a digital TV, you can get a DTV converter box to get free tv off the air, it is basically a digital TV tuner that works on analog TV's. You can get those on Ebay.
To unlock all its locked functions, you must have its original remote control A universal remote control won't go. Try to get its original one. Don't waste more money by buying a universal remote control.
Hi,
may just need to have channels programmed into it. Go into menu on tv look for a heading of "channel" or "setup". You're looking to make sure that the tv is set for either cable or off air. chs.their should be a reference to "autoprogram" this will lock in the tv to whatever chs are available. goodluck
If you mean does it have DTV tuning, the answer is no. (DTV is the new digital broadcasting which replaces the current analog system this coming February.) All TV's made after March 1, 2007 must have the digital tuning, but your set was made earlier than that. You would need to get a converter box if you aren't connected to cable or a satellite.
The most inexpensive solution, is to buy a universal remote. I own a One-for-All universal remote (model URC-4220) which works with Memorex TVs. I bought it at Walmart for less than 10 dollars.
If you want to pay a little more money, here are a few websites to visit: REMOTES.COM 1-800-REMOTES
MRREMOTECONTROLS.COM 1-800-221-1471
You can find a few more websites by typing in:
MEMOREX TV REMOTES into the Google searchbox.
Hope these suggestions help you out. Please take a moment to rate the info I have provided, but using the rating system below. Thanks.
THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO ORDER A REMOTE FROM MEMOREX. I HAVE TRIED FOUR DIFFERENT UNIVERSAL REMOTES AND CONTACTED THE MFGS HELP-LINES WITH ZERO SUCCESS. I FINALLY GOT SOMEONE AT MEMOREX TO ADMIT THAT THEIR REMOTE IS THE ONLY ONE THAT WILL WORK ON THIS (MT2024) SET. "$88.OO".--- WHAT A DEAL FOR A NEW TV! IF YOU BREAK OR LOSE THE REMOTE, THE FRUSTRATION QUICKLY BUILDS AND ADDS UP TO MORE THAN $88.00
Hi! I realize that you posed a couple years ago, but I am having the same problem with my relatively new Memorex MLT 3221 model. How did you solve it??? I have tried every 'layman' solution that I can think of! Please help!
