Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly
I could be of much better help with a complete model number I.e. (example 110.XXXXX)
The wait is supposed to be 10 minutes. go back and turn off your breaker by "Physically" pushing it with conviction to the OFF position and wait 10 minutes.
If after 10 minutes the cooktop is STILL locked:
Push the touch pad that looks like a padlock for at least 5 seconds. The lock light should go out.
If it does not go out I will need your model number to go any further.
Thanks for using FixYa and I will be watching for your response.

Hello - Try resetting the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately two minutes and turn the range back on. Select a normal bake cycle and if issue continues then the unit may possibly have either a faulty element, bad communication error with the main control board, oven sensor, or mechanical thermostat. I strongly suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately. They also usually warranty their labor just in case something else may turn out to be the root cause of your initial problem and it does work out better to your advantage.
