CD player on Bose radio started making a click sound

I have a Bose radio with a single CD player on the top. The CD player will play a CD when placed in it but makes a click sound as well. Is it just dirty and needs to be cleaned? At one point, it would not even play the CD, just made the clicking sound. CD is good, plays just fine in our other Bose sound system. Radio works perfectly, just not the CD player. Any ideas or guidance?

Did you clean the laser inside? that a thing I would do first
after that mail us again

You have to clean to laser inside your bose system

do not clean with ACETON or other heavy degreasers this will damage your laser

clean the laser with the same liquid that you clean your windschield with and you also earcloth to remove dirth from the laser.

All of a sudden our Bose player makes clicking noises when pressing the start button, and music does not play. What should I do?

My guess is the player is getting old and needs servicing. The clicking could be a bad laser or the power supply feed line that powers the laser/optical pickup assembly.

Non-working CD in Bose wave radio

Try replacing the battery on the bottom of the system - alot of people miss it because you have it constantly plugged into the mains, but replacing this (somehow) re-sets the system, and 9 times out of 10 solves the issue.

CD won't play

Sounds like the disk has not finalised correctly. Computers can play CDRs when they are only partly completed as they search the disk fro the files. A CD player expects to find a Table of Contents to tell it where the tracks are and if this has not written correctly it will not play on ordinary CD players but will work in computers.

Horrific bone crunching sound from clock radio

Unfortunately Bose will not release their schematics or parts lists, effectively giving them a monopoly on repair of these sets. Before you spend the big bucks on repair or a Bose "upgrade", you might want to check out the new HD radios. Better sound and MUCH lower prices than the Bose.

Bose Wave Radio w/single CD player on top

My Bose Wave Radio/CD developed this problem about a year ago. I don't use the CD player much and kept the unit clean. The disc spins but, the system does not read it. Cleaning the lens with cotton did not help.

Read that Bose charges $75 to fix this problem.

CD player

Not much of a answer but there are plugs that you can hitch a exterior cd player to it
and well you still will have that great Bose sound...yeah!

Bose radio

Not on its own, but you could connect an external CD to the auxilliary (AUX) RCA/ phono inputs on the back evn a cheap, personal CD player could be connected from the line out / headphone socket! (If you do this from the headphone socket, make sure you only have the CD player set to about two thirds volume or the sound will be distorted and poor)
