white vinegar is a natural de-scaler (and cheaper than those specialist chemical cleaners) Lemon juice is a natural de-greaser, try a diluted solution then rinse it through with water. ;-)
need to remove the back cover, which has a few screws in the bottom left corner is a round and white plastic device that is said meter. Disconnect hoses from it and open it. Clean it well and then close it and put in place. Should be fine!
Your are propably need to prime the machine. This mean that air blocked in the machine and need to get out and fill all pipe system with water.
To do this you need to warm up the machine and turn the hot water knob so you will get one cup of hot water from the steam wand. After that try to get some water from the coffee head without any coffee in the filter handle. Now the machine is ready for coffee again. You will need to prime the machine very often so try to remember the procedure. This will happen again usually after you use the steam process and this normal for your machine. http://www.fixya.com/support/r5772014-saeco_gaggia_spidem_ventilate_prime
David, the XP2070 won't operate properly until you've set the clock on the unit.
In case you don't have an owner's manual, I've attached a copy of the manual from the Krups site that you can download and print for free.
Please take some time to reaquaint yourself with the setup and procedure for using the expresso portion of the unit, as you might just have some sequence issues that is preventing the expresso from getting brewed.
Otherwise, it could be that the unit has a faulty seal in the pressure vessel that isn't allowing the expresso side to function properly, hence the reason the water might be coming out of the frothing tube instead of through the expresso brewing section.
I HAD A GE CAPPUCCINO/EXPRESSO MAKER GIVEN TO ME WITH NO MAUAL OF ANY SORT THE MODEL NUMBER IS 169069. I REALLY WOULD APPRICIATE HELP WITH THIS THANK YOU...
Well as i dont know what machine you have I will give you a generic troule shooting for manual esspresso machines.
first if the steam is working one can make the assumption that the way from the watertank to the bioler is ok.
that leaves us with the handle the filter you put your grindend beans in. Or the filter on the machine.
So first trie and see if it comes out water when you dont have on the handle with the espresson filter.
Will water not come even with the handle off? then its the fitler in the machine. trie and remove it and clean it or trie and descale it and force water through the espresso exit.
Will the water come out just fine with the filter and handle off?
then its those two things.
Trie and put the filter in alitle descaling for a couple of hours and the clean it "extremly" good.
HI
Water overflows what? Portafilter? Machine?
