I have the same problem, but I got round it instantly by plugging my ipod into the speaker via the headphone port on the ipod and into the audio in port on the speaker. The speaker came with a spare lead as you can plug any mp3 player into it this way. The sound quality seems exactly the same and I dont have to throw away the speakers. If you have lost the lead you need a 3.5 mm male to male headphone lead, just pence in any electrical shop or amazon!

Bose Ipod dock quit working

Try using it with another device. Also look close at the connector to see if there is any dust, rust, bent or missing connectors. if that doesn't work time for a new one.

My ip21 dock will not charge, it plays music when i press the play button but will not charge when docked, and i cant update it becouse of space, hel me

Place the ipod in the dock and move it around a little. Mine was having the same problem, turns out my friend had bent the connector a little when she slams in her ipod and then yanks it out without removing her brick case.

Gently push the ipod forward or backwards till the charging symbol comes up on the ipod battery. I then filled in some putty around the ipod so it stays like that while it's charging.

Bose SoundDock burned out two of my iPods - a Nano and a classic.

um ur sounddock might require that u place the white docking piece that came with ur ipod to be place b4 the ipod is docked if not u may ruin the dock and the ipod usb port this is done because different generation ipods(nana and touch and ...) have different shapes so the entrance for docks may require to be eleveated or reduce in gradient basically if the dock isnt made for the specific ipod or u dont know just put the white piece in

Bose docking station chip broke off

I had the same problem that the ipod would onl play when I pulled it forward in the dock. Looking closely, I saw that some of the pins on the left hand side of the connector were bent forward, so I bent them back with a needle:

(ie. pushing the pins to the right, as shown here). This solved the problem for me.

If your connector is too far gone, I suggest looking to:

http://www.chargeconverter.com/shop/connector.htm

for a new connector for £3-4 or

http://www.chargeconverter.com/shop/connector.htm

for a whole PCB (Printed Circuit Board) replacement for £10-15.

Hope this helps...
