Thank You for sharing this service procedure with "regular users". I'm just asking myself how big is the waste ink absorber? My printer (MP540) is like new. Last week, I just replaced the original set of cartriges which has been depleted after the first three months of operation.

  • boxplay Sep 06, 2010

Thank you! Options were to take to a service center or purchase a new printer. Was up and running in 6 steps!

  • greg910 Sep 10, 2010

Thanks so much!!! This worked for me. I thought I'd have to take the printer in for service but after following these instructions it got my Canon MP640 unstuck from it's printing error 6C10.

  • jdholl40 Sep 12, 2010

Tried this on my Canon MP640. Held down the two start buttons (black and color), as it doesn't appear to have a resume button. Followed the above directions exactly. It worked!

  • EsthervN Jan 13, 2011

Thanks! This worked for me! Only thing is that when I turn the printer on again after a day or so, I get the same error and I have to repeat this procedure. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Any other tips?

  • atkinsonline Jan 13, 2011

Thanks. This was the only to thing to fix my 6C10 error on my MP640

  • Anonymous Jan 16, 2011

Think for the last step, on my MP560 I had to click four times. The fourth time, I did not release the reset before clicking the power button,.

No one had an idea what I have do to when the errror code 6C10 appears. My Canon MP620 is about 3 years old and there is no more guarantee. Your tip was saving me taking the printer to a service point or purchasing a new one.
i had to do the procedure two times, but then it works.

  • frangod Jul 07, 2011

Many thanks. I thought I would have to pay almost the cost of a new printer to get this fixed at my local service centre. Another ploy by printer manufacturers to rid us of our money.

I think this worked for me. I did it a little different. I have a Cannon MX870. I tried this once and it didn't seem to work. Then I did it again and instead of turning it off/on. I copied something. Then It printed fine. Hopefully it keeps working.

Error 6C10 for MP640 , i did with the instruction above , in the process they work ok , but when you going to print , they come back the same error message again , if you repeat , the circle repeat are same as told .
Do you got other way to let this printer get rid of this message , and come back work as normal .

Thanks

The ink absorber is used to contain the ink used to clean print head. If full, Canon says to contact them and have the needed part replaced. :(

How can i reset or remove ink absorber full error from canon MP 250?

You should replace the aborber if you have not already. You can get one from ebay.

You can buy a service manual here which will have the reset instructions.

11_11_2012_5_27_21_pm.jpg
(Ther error displayed in Norwegian is: "skanning umulig" on my MFC-620CN ). After passing more than 6400 copies this printer is programmed to display this error message as the ink absorber box might be full. If you think it might not be quite full yet, you can simple change the PURGE COUNT from 6400+ to zero by following the steps in the service manual above. Then it will work as normal again. You can get the service manual your self free at http://pcmediks.blogspot.no/2010/09/brother-dcp-110c-mfc620cn-mfc210c.html
