My jensen wont play cds wen it dose it skips

Quite often in Jensen units, there is a separate laser for each. Odds are that the CD laser has died. Jensen does not sell replacement parts.

are you playing CDs while this happens?

ill bet your CD is skipping on bumps.

play your radio or ipod input and run some rough roads...ill bet your 'pause' goes away.

cd decks that can play mp3 format cds should be able to play regular cds. there is not mp3 mode per se.

If they are burned cds you will most likey not be able to playing them, Since that is a older model jensen. They dont read Mp3 Files.

some burned cds will not play try buying different brand of cd-r.

Ok, it sound to me that the laser lens which actually reads the cd's has some dirt particles on it.

There is a very cheap method of solving this problem.
Just go to any cd shop and buy yourself a decent laser lens cleaner disc, follow the instructions and you should be set.

sounds like a bad spot in your ribbon cable. it runs form the laser assembly to the circuit brd. you could have some dirt on the sled rails..either way the radio will have to be taken apart..if you can do this yourself the ribbon cable is not too expensive...labor is what gets you..

she's gone, i have same problems.. buy a cig lighter mp3 player with remote for less than $10 and just tune ur radio into the brodcast station

try get a original cds if it works fine.the next time you burn cd try burn at 8x or low may be your cd lens is not detecting cds burnt at high speed.hope this helps..
