DVD players usually connect using either an RCA cable (generally two or three wires, Red, White, and or Blue/Black/Green). The ends look like an umbrella. These are standard connections. Other connections are USB connectors and direct + and - wires. I must assume your is using RCA format. Match the color from the output on the player to input on the TV. That all there is to that!

I need to know what channel to operate my wii on. I have a toshiba tv that is about 8 years old.

Try changing the TV inputs to VIDEO or AUX, using the remote or a button on your TV. If there is not a way to connect the Wii to the TV using the 3-cable system (Yellow, Red and White), then you might have to use a VCR or DVD player to plug the 3 cables into and then transmit the audio and video from the Wii using the regular cable line of VCR or DVD Player on TV channels 3 or 4. If your Wii has a regular TV Cable jack on the back, connect that to the jack on the back of you TV and select channel 3 or 4.

When I switch on the Wii blue light flashes and power singal on but nothing appears on TV screen. Any ideas?

check the wires to make sure they are plugged in right and fully, then check the video output your tv is on, and make sure it matches with the one that you plug your wii into (above where you plug in the wires it says the output, put your tv on that)

Wii light is on but the Wii won't function.

Try the Wii "RESET".
Here's how:
1. Unplug the Wii for at least 5 minutes.
2. Plug it back in.

Connect tv to nintendo wii

Do you have cables for the wii? I would try the cables in the package to connect your wii to your tv. Your tv should have a analoge connection. In form of a scart or in form of three plugs. If you are using a scart just click it in the tv and in the wii. With the three pulgs you must connect all three plugs in your tv, they have matching collors, white in white, red in red and yellow in yellow. That would do the trick.

Nintendo Wii

You plugged it into the t.v right and not the Dvd player? if so then you should be able to click on something like tv/video which should take you to the Wii.
