My zoom rocker is stuck, is this a tough repair?

Replacing the zoom rocker switch requires disassembling the camera and can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

Wide screen mode won't go back to "normal".

Was exactly what you said. The cable box settings were in wide mode. Couldn't figure it out at all. Funny thing was too.. on my cable box remote, the button under the #9 button is the # button.. it doesn't say zoom at all.. but it totally controls the zoom.

So thanks for that.. AND thanks for saying "under the #9 on the cable remote" instead of just saying .. the zoom button.

Thanks again!!!

Where can buy replacement DC power coupler for

Ebay seems the cheapest option - plenty of replacement spares for HG10.
Otherwise you can try ordering direct from Canon spares, but chances are it will be expensive.
Good luck,

My ZOOM control seems to have lost a Spring on the back, is there a quick fix to take a cover off and reattach?

This is a known issue with Canon. Depending on your serial number, it can be repaired whether or not it is still under warranty.

Canon Speedlite 430EX zoom issue

You're gonna kick yourself, but here goes, you know that clear plastic wide beam shield on the front, make sure it's fully inserted or else the auto zoom won't work while it's in use, (or the flash thinks it's in use)

Zoom button is malfunctioning

tons of people w/ any canon elura series cameras including myself, with a canon elura 80 have the same zoom problem. It does not appear that canon has done anything to try to solve this mass problem with this series of cameras. Oddly enough the only way to solve this problem is to give it a tap and gentle hits near the zoom button to release what would seem to be a jam. Sorry that there's really no straight forward answer, but for now its the best i can give.

Canon Elura 60 zooms by itself

Listen, I know it's a couple of years after this post but, try this: Remove cassette, push to close, close camera as if to use it, hold firmly in left hand, open hand slap it with your right hand once or twice, (I'm not joking) it worked the two times I had this problem. Problems with the zoom? Almost same process, push firmly on zoom button (to un-zoom) try doing this as your tapping it. These are last ditch efforts on an aging camera, it really has been a good one. I've put this poor thing through years of abuse, and it's held up pretty well. Good luck, Jeff S.
