SOURCE: cannot delete songs
Your playing with fire when you don't use ITunes to put music on your Ipod. The best way to delete them is to restore your Ipod back to factory settings using Itunes.
SOURCE: downloading songs from itunes to the MP3 player
The GPX mp3 player is incompatible with iTunes (as are most non-iPod mp3 players). There are a few mp3 players out there that are iTunes compatible, but this is not the one.

SOURCE: have downloaded limewire to itunes library ipod is
You are going to want to add those files to your itunes library... The easiest way is to close out your limewire program... Make sure it is closed becuase it usaully starts up when the computer is on. In the tool bar you want to right click on the limewire icon and select exit. If you dont close the program some of the files are still being shared on the network. Now you will need to locate where the files were saved on your computer. They are usually located under My Documents and there should be a limewire folder. If this is the case then problem solved. Go to your I tunes and choose add file or folder to library ... a browser will open up go to my documents find the limewire folder and add it ...(you do this by clicking on it) then press the add button... this will pull your music into your itunes library. Be aware that some of the files you may have downloaded will be in different formats that itunes should convert. From here you can convert these to AAC format or leave them as Mp3. The AAC format is what apple uses as its format. If you convert them to AAC they will stay in your library no matter what you do with the original files. Before converting you might want to change your settings ... go to edit... prefrences...under general there is an import tab click on this and you can control the qaulity of the file... Choose the highest quality 320kbs... it will give you a larger file but the file will be cleaner. hope this helps

With itunes open and your nano connected right click where it is listed under "devices" at the left of the screen. This will open a window for the nano. At the top there will be some tabs to access different aspects of the nano. Click the "summary" tab. The third section from the top there will be "Options". Make sure the box for "Sync only checked songs and videos" is checked. Once it is, eject the nano then go back to your library and uncheck the boxes to the left of any song you don't want on your nano . Once you are done connect the nano and it will remove the songs you have unchecked from it. This wont affect the contents of your library.
