It sounds like the remote would need to be programmed to the receiver itself. It may have lost it's programming when the TV code was put in.

To program remote to Satellite:
1. Access System Information screen.
2. Note the # on the bottom where it was Secondary Remote Address.
3. Hold SAT until all buttons on top of the remote light up.
4. Let go and while it's blinking enter a number between 1-15 and press #
5. Press record 3 times and test remote.

i would try to reprogrsam the remote first. do yuo have the owners manual to do this?

Follow this link and got to the remote section. Once there shoose the type of remote you have and select remote codes to get the ones for that particular remote that may operate the piece of equipment desired. You need to contact dish network to get a manual for remote control. Each TV brand has one or more codes that will allow you to power TV on or off, and adjust volume. Since Dish Network uses a specific remote to operate that particular receiver you will need them to either send out a technician to program for your TV, or send you a new remote that has a manual. Allowing you to do the setup yourself..Good Luck
