GE DECT 6.0 GHZ cordless fone (model 28111) don't ring

I won a GE 6.0 GHZ cordless DECT phone (model 28111) with 2 handset and when I receive calls it only turns on the lights.

    The model # on back is 5-2716 but looks same as #28111. Mine does not ring, due to what I think is, in the handset windows reads: DO NOT DISTURB. I have no idea how this came about, phones have worked great until now. I do not have an instruction manuel. Help! Thanks!

    Hi All

    I had same problem with Phone not ringing.

    I plugged the power cord for the base from the wall and the phone starting ringing again. Not sure how to turn off the DND option.

    My phone does not ring and says DO NOT DISTURB. How do I turn that off? Look on base for DO not Disturb button. Push it

There is a Do Not Disturb button on the base unit. Press it to turn the feature on and off.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A DND BUTTON ON THE BASE THEN YOU MUST UNPLUG THE BASE POWER FROM THE WALL AND UNPLUG THE BATTERY FROM THE PHONE. PLUG THE BATTERY BACK IN THE PHONE THEN PLUG THE BASE BACK IN THE WALL.

THE DND WILL THEN TURN OFF! JUST DID IT 5 MINUTES AGO (11/8/08)

Your GE phone doesn't have an accessory handset. Unfortunately you cannot replace it with just one handset. If the phone is within warranty, kindly return it to the manufacturer and have it replaced.

Ge model 28213ee2-a 2nd handset doesnt ring when a call comes in
assuming all the settings are correct, and sometimes there's a tiny switch on the handset for ringer, that has to be on, try the 'page' feature [the button on the base to make the handset ring to find it] - if that doesn't work, there's a very good chance the ringer itself is bad. i've seen that many times.

New Voice Mail flashing light
press "mute" key to access menu, press the up or down arrow key labeled "caller ID- volume" until you get to "handset setup", press the "mute" key again, press the down or up arrow until you have "defaultsetting" selected, press "mute" key, press "1", then press "mute" once more. At this point your handset will reset clearing the indicator for all the handsets. I've had to do this twice on my phones and it worked every time.

New Voice Mail flashing light
What worked for me was to call my phone from another phone and leave myself a voicemail. I then went in and retrieved and deleted that voicemail. Once I hung up from my voicemail service my handsets reset about 10 seconds later.

Caller ID Problem on the GE2811 Twin cordless phone system
How to get the caller ID to work on the additional GE DECT phone handsets. You must follow these steps in the exact order :
#1 - unplug the base phone
#2 - unplug the telephone line from the base phone
#3 - remove the battery packs from the phones
#4 - wait 10 minutes. reverse the order when assembling. Put battery packs in phones, put the telephone line back in the base phone and lastly plug all phones back in.
It takes about another 10 minutes after that before all phone handsets start recognizing caller ID.
