Will not go to photo tray to print 4X6 picture

When I try to go to photo tray to print a ohoto it allways says photo tray but prints on 8x10 paper in the main tray.

Click on a photo and click print. The window that comes up go down to pop up window that says (PREVIEW) CLICK ON THAT and go to (PAPER TYPE/QUALITY) option, then go to bottom pop up window that says (SOURCE) click on it and you have a choice of clicking on (MAIN TRAY) OR (PHOTO TRAY) If you want a 4x6 put it on photo tray. You need to do it every time you do a 4x6. I hope this helped you. Jeffrey

This is why Mac's are EVIL!!!! LOL, anyway try using the software, that comes with the printer, and tell it which paper type, and tray to use. Also try printing on a PC, and see if it works then, as you may have to live with this as the solution.

Hp c6180 won't print from 4x6 photo paper tray
If you put regular paper in the tray as it is asking does the printer use the regular paper to print the picture? If so, be sure the 4x6 photo paper tray (with photo paper) is pushed all the way in, and when you select print there should be an option (probably hidden in a submenu) to select the photo tray as the paper source. If you are printing from Adobe Acrobat, I have not found a reliable way to get the c6180 to use the photo paper tray. I hope this helps.

Hello,

When you go to print something next time, click on Preferences on the Print window. Click on the Advanced tab. There should be a Mirror Image choice and it probably says ON. Click on the ON and change it to OFF with the drop-down menu. Click OK. That should correct the mirror image problem.

As for the paper, I have a hard time printing on 4X6 paper too. Seems to be a common problem with HP. If you would like to accept the mirror image solution and post a separate on, you should get another expert to help you.

In the meantime I will try to research it further.

Instructions on printing a 4 x 6 card or photo on my HP 4280 All in One printer. How to I set up the printer?
At the printer:
1. Remove any paper from the input tray
2. Put a few sheets of 4x6 (10 or so) in the same tray
3. Adjust the paper holder bar so that the 4x6 paper stays straight in place. The holder bar was holding the 8x11 paper in place.

On the computer:
Open a picture
Seect [File] [Print]
Select the photo printer from the list
Cick on [Preferences]
See the paper type? select photo paper
See the paper size? Select 4x6
Quality (Best)
[OK]
[PRINT]

I have a hp c7100 photosmart runing on mac iphoto. I can print 8x10 photos using the large tray, but can print 4x6 photos using small tray.
Here is a link to the manuals for your machine. Find your exact manual and you should be able to change your format to 4X6

I am trying to print 4 x 6 photos, and have set all of the settings to 4 x6, but I the printer keeps printing part of the photo on the entire 4 x 6 area of the paper. Could you help please!!! Thank you.
I belive you are saying the printer is trying to print say an 8X10 picture on you 4x6 paper. If this is the case, the software is not being set correctly for the size of paper.

Printing 4x6 photos on photo paper
Sorry but your question seems to be unclear.
Here are the solutions that I see:
- try fixing the orientation of your paper on the printer:
-- go to printer "properties" then select "paper" then set it to
landscape or portrait. You might just have to cut the extra
papers
- try changing the paper size on the printer "properties" if it has
no 4x6 then choose "custom size"

Only 4x6 tray prints clearly
For this concern try pressing "copy+cancel" for media calibration then try again, make sure you have an A4 paper loaded. If this doesnt help you out try using the Kodak website www.kodak.com/go/itg and use "image quality" for class.
