Vtech 5867 won't charge

Phone was left off charger for a few days. When it beeped loudly because the battery had run down, I put it back on. The charging light does not go on now and the phone does not light up or show anything on its display. When picked up off the base, the phone beeps again to indicate low battery. I checked the bottom of the phone and the base - nothing seems to be interfering with the connection. How can I fix this?

First off all You should try disconnecting the phone for a few hours and then checking your internet connection. if the problem reoocures while the phone is unplugged then the phone is not at fault. If it doesn't - reconnect the phone verify that it's not plugged to the same power outlet as the router and place the Vtech base in a diffrent part of the room. good Luck

SOURCE: Not Registered

I had the same problem and this procedure fixes it! First, unplug the power to the main base (answering machine) for 20 seconds. Plus it back in. Put the phone that says "not registered" in the main answering machine. It will say "press the find handset for 4 seconds". Do that. It will run thru a series of stuff and will find the handset. It works! Rich (jambones.com)

I just had the same problem. Could be dirty terminals. I took the battery out, cleaned the terminals on the battery and phone with a pencil eraser, put the battery back in and it's working fine. (Says fully charged, where just a few minutes ago it said low battery).

SOURCE: Vtech phones loosing connection to base

You are pretty close to the solution. The problem is the charge detection in the handset. All handsets on a cordless phone detect the battery level with an hexadecimal value in the memory. Each hex value equal a volt value of the battery. EX: 3.5v = 9B
3.6v = 9C 3.7v =9D etc... The problem is the hex value in your defective handset are all mess up. So 9B is not 3.5v anymore. Then your handset could last 1hr after foul charge or doesn't alert you before the phone goes dead due to low BAtt.

One of my vtech 5867 handsets is frozen. It is stuck on one caller id. Battery is charged. What to do?

Have you tried re-establishing connection with the base unit? Try setting it on the base and wait for the charge light to blink a couple of times and re-connect the handset and see if that helps.

The phone will not stay charning

Just remove the batteries, wait approx. 30 seconds and then re-install. Also, if you have spare batteries in the base, just swap them. Works every time.

Won't Charge or Turn on

First try drying out your phone for a day or two with lots of dry moving air gently blowing past and around it, the phone must be unplugged and battery removed during this process, then once everything has been dried try charging the battery in another phone just like it, if it charges and see it it will power the phone, if the battery works put t back into your phone and try to turn it on. If it doesn't work in your phone but it does in another then its the phone, if the phone works with another battery its the battery but dry them both totally first, even a few tiny specs of moisture can screw up your phone when power is running through it, so be careful. Cheers!

Help!Phone does nothing!

Ok you need to replace that charger cos thats the one that is doing all the damage. Check your battery voltage if its below 3v then you need to rejuvenate it back to its original capacity. It will be ok good luck.
