TALLY T2250 PRINTER

We have the printer set for "Letter" 11 inch paper but for some reason it sends the last 7 lines to a second page. After printing these 7 lines it then feeds the paper to a third page

It sounds like there is 12 inch form length (or may be A4) selected on the computer system. The data from the system will take precidence over the 11 form length set on the printer.
If using Windows, ensure the Printing Preferences in the pritner driver are set to 11 form, Also check Printer Properties for a paper size ensure this is set to 11 inch
On the 'System' check the paper size selected within the application (if available) Check this is set to 11 inch form length
Check document margins to ensure these are not reducing the 'printable area' on the page. If availabe to a Print Preview on system to see what the document looks like.

If your application outputs raw data to the printer, check the number of lines per page assming printing at 6 lines per inch you can fit 66 lines on an 11 form. Check no more than 66 lines are per page, it sounds like 72 might be being sent befor a Form Feed in the data. (there may be a 1 line top margin set on the printer)

Finaly check the top margin setting on the printer to ensure it is set to 0 so you have the full 66 lines available on a page on the printer I think you would be looking to set the FORM ADJUST to 0 to adjust the top margin

How to run tractor1 and tractor 2 Tally T2250 ?

The first thing you would need to do would be to ensure you have two sets of tractors. The second set of tractors is an option not on the standard printer.
You can fit the second set of tractors to the front or rear of the printer

You can select either of the two tractors in the following ways;

  1. Via the control pannel menu
  2. If printing from Windows by selecting the appropriate paper path when printing
  3. If you are able to insert control codes into your data stream you can use escape commands to change the paper path

My HP printer is cutting of the last few lines of th document and shifting them to the next page. What could be causing this?

Well the simplest solution is to make sure you have the correct size of paper.

For example, if you are trying to print a legal size page (14 inches) onto a letter size page (11 inches) that is exactly what you would get.

Tally 2250

Measure with a ruler the size of the form in inches that you are going to use .

Calculate the number of lines you have by relating it to the Line Density using the formula
Form Length = Form Size * Line Density
For example for 11 inch paper at 6 lpi = 11 * 6 = 66 Lines

You must disable the Printers Menu Lock before you can change any settings - (power on holding down SETUP)

Press SET UP button on the Control Panel.

Select the MENU Option on the Control Panel Display.

Select the NEXT Option on the Control Panel Display until PAPER is displayed.

Select the PAPER Option on the Control Panel Display by pressing the button directly beneath it.

Select the Desired Paper Path for the Form Length change - The different Paper Paths can be stepped through by using the NEXT Option on the Control Panel Display.

Select Paper Path by pressing the button directly beneath it.

Select FORMLEN by pressing the button directly beneath it.

Select LINES and then increase or decrease the value on the Control

Panel Display by using the two arrow buttons until the desired length in lines has been achieved.

Select the SET Option on the Control Panel Display by pressing the button directly beneath it.

Set the Printer back ON-LINE by pressing the ON-LINE button.

This will set the form length on the printer, see the support section of www.dascom.co.uk for more info

OKIpage 10i does not accept A4, and wants 'Letter'

Maybe you won't be able to use A4 paper, which I think is 3/4 inch longer than letter-size 8 1/2 x 11, according to the sizing inside the paper tray of my OKIPAGE 10e. My computer, using Windows 98, doesn't list OKIPAGE 10e among the printers I can use with my computer. Yet, Windows 98 has incorrectly identified my printer as Okidata OL-600e for some reason. I'm surprised my printer works at all with Windows 98. Thanks for detailing your question as "when I print a test page (from the printer controls), because I was unaware I could print a test page using printer controls, so I started pressing anything that looked like an electronic button on the top of my printer. I believe this trial and error eventually helped me to get rid of an unwanted 1 inch wide bar, from top to bottom of 8 1/2 x 11 pages about 2 inches from the right-hand-side of my pages. This was progressively getting worse. I thought I was going to have to buy a new printer. I bought this printer used, and without instruction booklet, so I used your info. about printer controls and started pressing electronic buttons. It's amazing, because after I made about 35 copies, now the annoying 1 inch wide black bar is gone!
